I will never get the amount of praise this game gets. 
Things are already dumbed down in many ways in AAA games these days but I guess itâs going to get even worse. Doesnât help either that the Sony âPrestigeâ games are the new standard for âquality AAAâ in the last 10 or so years.

Nothing wrong with that of course but if youâre going to go down as the best game ever level then you need to do a hell of a lot more than that
Iâm a huge MGS fan so thereâs bias here but that game in 98 was mind blowing, there was literally nothing out there doing the things it did and had a story, characters people grew attached to just like TLOU but also had bosses, gameplay and all around innovation that is still felt to this day
The way people talk about TLOU youâd think it was doing the same level of stuff but it didnât do any of that

Except for the graphics, MGS is still mind blowing to this day. Kojima and co. got everything right back in 98.
I feel like The Last of Us is a game that punches you in the face the same as a movie can and thatâs an achievement for sure, but thereâs a lot of games that do much better in everything else. Even the shooting is kind of wonky.
It was a beautiful game that came right at the end of the gen that felt special to people. Thatâs also a game I can never complete again (l tried the remaster a few times). Itâs just too much, that itâs not fun to play⊠at some point you just want to be done with it.
Decent list, but Sid Meierâs Pirates! got robbed.

This. I still fire up Metal Slug 3 and it still has amazing gameplay along with the art and animation where you can see intricate details and moving parts of complex machines all hand animated and a marvel to this day. Itâs one of many games from that era that aged like fine wine. The games that tend to age like milk are the ones that strive for ultra realistic graphics. They tend to age fast too.

I played the trial on Game Pass for 10 hours and didnât really like it. Its not the worst Need for Speed but i thought the blatant cheating unpredictable crashing AI makes it really unfun.
