I mean, people talk about Microsoft consolidating game industry and you see the other side and see Sony doing it in the anime distribution industry. They own both Crunchyroll and Funimation lol

These people have zero idea how aggressively Sony buys in the entertainment industry.
Hawkeye is a Sony product, and was bought out some time back for cricket ball path tracking. This ball tracking tech is now complete monopoly in technology for Cricket, Tennis and Football (Soccer for our American/Aussie friends). There is no competing product!

They just need to look at Google, Facebook and Amazon for definition of a monopoly. Ad content and internet routing, social media and ecommerce hegemony. There is an active case against these companies right now for a reason. Facebook has different issues, but can be tried for total social media domination too. Only Twitter and Tiktok not being a part of Facebook are keeping them out of the limelight.
Invented in the UK as a part of Siemens and later called Hawk Eye Innovations. Sold to Sony in 2011. Now, it is not possible to remove this technology from the sport.

I personally don’t care. I want more people to play Xbox games and having to pay less for games.
