Ok, soā¦ With Sony controlling EVO fighting games are bound to be exclusive to PS5 now or am I crazy?
I did not think they made anything, that they were just a league that covered eSports. Sony would still need to moneyhat the devs and publishers to get the games to be exclusive.
The way Iām thinking is: fighting games were already popular on PS platforms, buying Evo just cements that every pro player has to have a PS5 to enter at the very least. BUT, Xbox is coming in strong this time, and will eat some huge market share from PS.
Letās hope fighting games stay multiplat.

Its a smart long term strategy by Sony to allow devs to work on IPs they own or will own. Then when it comes time for acquisition they can get a bargain prie since they have no IPs of value. To be honest it was quite generous of Microsoft to let go of Alan Wake IP, but its probably better to maintain relationship with Remedy
I think MS will still get the fighting games they got last gen, but they might miss out on street fighter again. It would suck if Street Fighter skips xbox agian

I believe there are reports that SF6 would be multiplatform, but I donāt know if anything will change.
Plus, there are Smash competitions on Evo aswell.
