Very happy that my PlayStation 5 is literally for the full exclusives only and don’t have to worry or deal with any of the other crap.

well, nothing new, just more speculation but… here it is

I strongly suspect this March 23rd event is just some tech/gamedev related event and not an xbox event, therefore 0 chance for Elden Ring to be there. Doesn’t mean Xbox can’t have it at their event whenever it is, but I think some of these websites are making the wrong connections lol which is only gonna make it worse when it turns out to be false.

When no such thing was actually said by Jeff. He just said they might have an event to welcome Bethesda, not an “xbox games showcase”.

Elden Ring appearing at the supposed Xbox “What’s new for gaming” event would be huge 
but some say this is a “corporate event” so… 
yeah Im fairly confident 23rd will be some corporate event, otherwise Xbox would have at least said something. Granted, the last Xbox showcase happened on 23rd as well back in July, but “What’s new in Gaming” seems way too general and about the game industry than xbox in specific, that’s why I’m doubtful. Hopefully there’s some event at least in March, both Sony and Nintendo had it recently and people are gonna be starving to see what Xbox has in store, and they do have a lot of indies coming, along with Psychonauts 2 in April hopefully, and can show off some Bethesda related teasers to hype people up for E3. Please be smart here and capitalize on the drought here, Xbox, haven’t had anything since July. March would be perfect for a mini-blowout with smaller games like Ascent, Crossfire, Psychonauts 2, and have two big moments like Starfield teaser and of course, Elden Ring! All leading up to the main blowout at E3 time with Halo Infinite, Starfield, FH5, Wolf3, Hellblade 2 or whatever.

I fail to see why Elden Ring HAS to be shown at an event.
Can it just get like a new gameplay trailer out of nowhere with some hands-on impressions or something?
Like what does it have to be at an event? Big game sure, but BAMCO can easily just do “Hey, here’s Elden Ring”

The event hasn’t been announced yet, I am sure Xbox will say something once it is. Why would MS host a gaming event that isn’t focused on Xbox? Microsoft already has Game Stack Live on the calendar for April for developer focused stuff.
I expect them to talk xCloud plans (iOS app is supposed to come this spring, upgrades to 1080p, PC app, hopefully a plan to transition to XSX), Bethesda, and hopefully highlight some near term software.

I think the days of having to release something at an event are pretty much done. The network of Twitter/YouTube pretty much means that anyone that cares about this stuff will know within hours, and people that don’t care that much wouldn’t have watched the event anyway, likely finding out about the game much later through advertising.
Thankfully it also means we no longer have to see videos of plants in the audience screaming like they’ve been impaled, just because the words From Software appeared on a screen for five seconds.

Sums up my PS4 experience too, not great if it is even worse on PS5.
Elden Ring deal with Xbox where the XSX version is either a few months timed exclusive like Yakuza LAD was or a full year timed.
Not that I need this to happen perse, but the meltdowns on at least one site would be…special. 
I don’t like the idea… But after the ongoing FF VIIR shitshow I could see it happening.
Well now let’s create a loophole to find something good in this post

exactly this. These websites are getting annoying as hell and as already said, will come back to bite them when it turns out it’s false.
Sekiro a new try. Some of the bosses have gotten new movesets and a whole boss rush mode, it’s worth getting back for that alone.
