Xbox TGS 2024 |OT|

This has been a show tailored for Japanese audiences and fans of japanese games, which it did very well ( even more than a certain other company ). I have some Japanese friends and they all said they loved the show and what Xbox is doing there.

Nice announcements for fans of Japanese games like myself. Square stuff is finally coming over, Threads of Time looked nice, and the indies were cute, too. As for the Mana games, I still find it sad that the Secret of Mana remake on PS4 wasnā€˜t done with the quality of Trials and the new Visions of Mana. Itā€˜s the most reknown entry in the series in the west after all! I have no idea if weā€˜ll ever see it on Xbox.

I have no doubt at this point but I would wager it would be in the form of the Collection of Mana - which includes the original version, and arguably the far superior one, if I’d be making bets.

Trials of Mana on Game Pass is really cool.

So all of these new releases are Series X/S only?! Seems a little silly that you can’t play the FF pixel remasters on Xbox One.

I thought it was kinda weird they released Octopath Traveler 2 on X1 but not the pixel remasters. I guess maybe more people are buying their games on Series consoles than on past gen.

That’s a little harsh and uncalled for. Staffy comes across as one of the most passionate Xbox users but is also very fair with his views and doesn’t look to praise every single move of Xbox.

I agree though it was more Kinect that did all the damage IMO

Xbox doesn’t get enough credit or Phil and the team. Getting Atlus and Yakuza team on Xbox is a massive plus and no doubt took a lot of work and Xbox money to make it all possible.

Japanese support is now better than ever on Xbox not even the 360 had the Yakuza games.

These are good times just would have thought a lovely small little console like the Series S would have done better in Japan. Or maybe those views are a little typecasted and the Japanese have no issues with big consoles

It’s neat that she got to be on the stage this year since last year she was just in an office doing a recording. I actually cheered when she appeared yesterday.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Yeah, I genuinely don’t get it either, his comment really surprised me. I’ve seen comments that actually were hyperbolic and negative, and as I said before I have had comments like that too but that was a long time ago. I gave him examples too in my reply but it was crickets ever since.

Ah well, hardly a big deal, it’s whatever.

I think this response is actually a perfect encapsulation of the ā€œproblemā€ (I agree with you it isnt a huge deal). Rather than any degree of self-reflection and or effort to understand where others are coming from, you gravitate to the source that absolves you of the very real issues. It has a very ā€œno, it’s the children who are wrongā€ flavor to it.

What Knottian said isn’t new, nor is it off base, and it’s a criticism that has been levied toward you by several users (me included).

Now to be completely clear, I don’t think you make the posts maliciously or with ill intent, and I think you are a good poster overall and value that you are here and actively discussing things (and you have a adorable doggo). But you absolutely have a flair for finding abhorrent twitter sources with negative takes and a propensity to jump to overwhelmingly negative conclusions and concern spirals. Ones that sometimes seem entirely manufactured and out of place.

All I think @Knottian is getting at is that perhaps a little more self-governance and reflection is in order before hitting the post button, I don’t think he was personally attacking you. At a certain point when a criticism is coming at you from multiple directions it probably isn’t the time to double down on ā€œno, my posting style is immaculate and everyone else is wrongā€.

And to be clear again, I don’t think everything needs to be sunshine and rainbows, criticism, negativity, and concern are all entirely justifiable responses. It’s simply when, where, and in what context that matters. Keep in mind there has been a lot of disingenuous concern trolling here (not from you) every time even slightly disappointing news occurs (you know, the ones that emerge from the shadows only when a small news nugget occurs and you never seen them again after) that amplifies people’s feelings about these things.

I totally agree that Staffy is a good member of this community and definitely not a concern troll, he loves the platform as much as we all here do but I agree that many times he seems to be easily influenced by negative hot takes.

And yeah I agree that we shouldn’t be flowers and rainbows here all the time, like for example we can all agree that the ā€œone more thingā€ PS5 version announcement of Indy was not elegant to put it mildly but IMO we should focus more on the awesome games that are available on Xbox and less on the drama surrounding the games industry.

I think it’s really important we hold MS/Xbox accountable. We know Xbox leadership lurks here, and there needs to be a place that gives truthful criticism so they know what needs to change or when they are doing something wrong. We know other places are going make any sort of Xbox news sound as negative as possible, and it is done on purpose too. We can’t let that muddy the waters such that those at Xbox just automatically ignores all criticism as haters. So I think it is okay to bring in those hyperbolic negative takes from outside and discuss it here so we can give more level headed views on it.

Yeah, no one has ever said anything to the contrary but seeing as how some clearly can’t see the forest for the trees, it is what it is.

I just love people that don’t have to filter through thousands of messages everyday making false claims about verifiable observations and attributing things to me that were never said. But you do you I guess.

Cheered as well. Totally love seeing things like this also glad she enjoyed her visit. I think will be seeing her more.

Wait what now? Are you talking about false claims being made about you personally or false claims surrounding industry reports?

I’m confused, somebody help. Is this still about TGS?
