Xbox TGS 2024 |OT|

I wonder if Palworld will ever come to the switch 2? Yeah, probably not.

What I wonder if they had PS side of booth before Nintendo pulled a fast one. If so, if I was PS, I would have backstage brawl with them. Okay, I’m only thinking wrestling moment, but still.

Though it’s crazy. Nintendo doesn’t attend this event, so seeing how Palworld does it makes me think this is a missed opportunity for fans of PokĆ©mon. I know they’re in everywhere else, but it feels refreshing to see pocket monster style booth at TGS.

It seriously looks fantastic! It just sucks that because Nintendo is unwilling to hold up game freak to the same standards as the other studios working on their IP(I know, only owns a 3rd of it) they decided to screw a smaller company over.

I didn’t get it myself when it’s clear your passion and love for Xbox it comes across in every post you do. When you care and emotional attachment for a product or corporation you will always have positive and negative views because you want what’s best for them.

Some will look to praise any Microsoft move and won’t accept any sort of negative feedback. If Microsoft pulled out of gaming altogether there’ll no doubt be some saying how it’s a brilliant move and MS is ahead of the game LOL

I don’t know what happened, but let bygone be bygone.

I agree that in the past I’ve posted tweets that turned out to be from not so great sources and I’ve genuinely been doing my best to correct and avoid that. I also genuinely believe that these past months I’ve been doing a lot better there, maybe some slip ups still. And not trying to use this as an excuse, but I don’t even really go looking for these tweets, I see them because a friend or any other account I do follow reacts to it or retweeted it. But I’m doing my best to first check if the particular account is even worth spending time on.

When it comes to tweets from like Jez for example I still sometimes have a hard time taking it with a grain of salt. I believe his words were ā€œDon’t expect FF7R to be announced at TGS, but do expect Pixel Remasters and 16.ā€ and then 16 was a no show and I only said it was disappointing that it wasn’t. I also believe it goes both ways, there have been several times I personally thought the reaction from other posters to a tweet I posted or a comment I wrote was…it felt like an overreaction to me.

Ones that sometimes seem entirely manufactured and out of place.

I see. But I can assure you that this isn’t my intention and sometimes I’m not aware of it. But clearly some people do read or see it that way, so I’ll take that into account even more from here on out. I am quite passionate about the things I love though, and sometimes that can mean I go more to extremes. But I’ll be more on the lookout now.

Thanks for your words about my dog, she’s doing amazing now too.

Yeah, Xbox sometimes makes it way too easy to get ā€œmadā€ again or just frustrated really. I do also feel that some fans just accept and condone way too much by Xbox. My intention here, well, overall in life really is to be genuine, be enthusiastic, excited, uplifting and so on, but again, Xbox sometimes makes that a very hard…well…challenge, I guess, lol.

But I’ve said it before, I will be with them until the wheels fall off. And I’m sure that will be a long time.

I love doggos

And I want to emphasize, I really don’t want it to come off like I am attacking you. I think you are good people and am just trying to be constructive in my feedback. We all have our faults, I certainly have mine.

And a degree of it might just be online fatigue because everything online is overwhelmingly negative all the time.

I didn’t read through the whole thread, but just wanted to post my quick opinion on the show.

Really happy with what I saw and if it’s true the viewership went up on their YouTube channel for the main stream, it means they must be doing something right.

The SE stuff is cool, it’s the start of a commitment and while it’s smaller games for the time being, it shows willingness from both parties and I’m happy about that. Having Pixel Remaster means that besides 16 and Remake, we have all of the FFs on Xbox which is kinda insane!

A lot of smaller Asia region titles on display as well, and with Phil and Sarah’s speeches along with a Japanese host, it made the whole show feel more personal imo and kind of like a smaller E3 specifically for Japan, which is nice for MS to acknowledge more. While small, I do believe they had mentioned they are seeing growth there so good on them for acknowledging that and pushing harder to gain a foothold in that region as a portable Xbox and cloud gaming could be their gateway to a stronger foothold in Japan.

They have also finally started Japanese dubs which again shows they are learning and really trying to expand their worldwide reach.

While not a show with huge reveals, overall for me it was at least a 7/10 and I got several new games in Gamepass which is always a good thing!

I’m also hoping the commitments implied for Japan here with regards to dubs for example will also be pushed elsewhere as we know it has been an issue for a lot in Europe since the Xbox One generation.

I know this is a completely side topic in relation to the thread but related to the topic of negativity: I’m very much someone who tends to focus on negative possibilities.

I realized that it’s related to how my brain works and how I generate anxiety for myself. Apparently it’s a form of OCD where you calculate all possibilities of something and fixate on the worst case scenarios or the most negative ones. Understanding this helped me deal with my flavour of anxiety.

So I’m sure that there is some fatigue in regards to my posts that get fairly critical and extrapolates negative outcomes, I try to bite my tongue a lot to prevent that.

But ultimately this anxiety is centered around desiring a healthy console space with multiple players. I want to see a really successful Xbox alongside a really successful PlayStation. I want to see that in perpetuity, which is a big ask in an industry where players fall out left and right.

I personally think Xbox is in the position it is in for multiple reasons but some of which are 100% within the control of Xbox and so I feel that criticism is important. We know of their major mistakes in the past but I would argue that they’re are still making mistakes, some of which they will admit despite their recency.

Anyways, for me it’s rooted in a love for all the great things we get from Xbox and the desire to see these good things continue. And as a consumer, seeing myself get access to Japanese games is a big part of that. It still sucks that I can’t get VF5 Ultimate Showdown on this platform, and I don’t want to see that going forward. Things are looking up in that regard.

Some people thought this show was lackluster but if you like jrpgs this is a good show for you. Xbox needs that support and gamers need to buy these games to see it continue. Or play the games on gamepass if they launch there. I agree with what u said about Xbox. The position they are in is 100% thier own fault. This whole generation was there’s to win but they kept stepping on this rakes. That being said as a platform it’s still very good as they still get most games. I said this last gen and it didn’t come true but next gen looks like it could be good for them with this handheld and if the next console takes this multi store approach to things Xbox really could be a one stop shop device where everything synced up and is together. For me it’s a huge selling point. I just wish Xbox execs didn’t have that defeated mentality. That interview Phil did with kinda funny was the end of this gen for them imo. I am hopeful for the future

While some may call this show lackluster, I think they did an excellent job considering their position. It’s a big ask to expect Xbox to drop something huge at TGS when they are in a distant third place in Japan. Yet they were still able to focus on some nice games specifically targeting the Japanese/Asian market. Sure people can view the show and say ā€œoh I’ll pick that up on my PS5 or Switchā€ but, Xbox is still helping their development partners out at least.
