Xbox TGS 2024 |OT|

Threads of Time was the highlight of the show for me imo. I hope it gets released day 1 on GP too.

Yeah. It’s the one I also think should get a full remake as well.

Because for a lot of people the first Final Fantasy game was FF7. :stuck_out_tongue:

Pretty good show with a lot of cool stuff shown! Threads of Time looked awesome and I will definitely get the new Atelier game, never played any game in the series but it looks really good! The Trials games on GP and finally FF Pixel Remasters coming to the console were also nice surprises.

Good show – love to see them highlighting ABK content, localization & getting new IP on the console. Smart way to move even if not hugely flashy.

As much as we wanted for this to be the time, a show with more eyes on it might make more sense for a game that big.

Interesting looking ant game. Wasn’t on the broadcast that I remember seeing but they just put the video up so assuming it is there.

Like ā€œE3ā€? Yeah probably that.

Could happen at TGA or even Third Party Showcase. I think we are due for one more this year.

Just watched most of the show. Decent show. Nothing for me outside of Indy and the Starfield/Diablo expansions but good to see Xbox getting more Square Enix games and anyone who’s interested in Trials of Mana, I highly recommend it. Great JRPG.

I think it’s a remake of my favorite mana game(I had only played secret of mana and Seiken Densetsu 3(trials) though I also thought it was 2 before lol), so Trials is a must for me. Of all the final fantasy’s in the pixel remastered, I think 6 is the only one I have any memories of and likely the one I want to play the most.

Or any of the actually-large cons where the larger titles are announced…

I only expected the Pixel Remasters, and said as much, because of several reasons:

  • For better or worse, TGS isn’t even in the top three of game showcases these days, and it’s been rare to see anything megaton at these over the last decade.
  • Smaller venues are great for proof of commitment, and this absolutely served that end. Both for Xbox, who further cemented that Xbox isn’t going anywhere and that their promise to increase Japanese support is 100% truth; for Square Enix, it proves that this new SE is fully on-board with Xbox and the multiplatform approach is here to stay.

My only question is, as this is more than just a current pattern, why do you always find the most hyperbolic, negative take every time?

You lose me here…

What is even remotely hyperbolic about what I said? I merely shared my disappointment that FF16 wasn’t announced.

The pixel remasters all look great and are on sale for $60 instead of $75 for a week but they’re just not for me. I own Visions of Mana but haven’t played it yet. Will play it after the Shattered Space expansion. Really looking forward to it since I enjoyed Trials of Mana a few years ago.

I know Trials is/was a remake but I only remember playing Secret of Mana back in the day on SNES and I hated it. lol

You’re right, this time wasn’t specifically hyperbolic; I should have said it’s either that or the constant Debbie Downer appearance…

Again, something I disagree on though.

For one I’m not as much present here as I used to, busy life now, which is good!

And I do find I share enough positivity too. Today when Trials of Mana was announced. The other day about new demos, about Ace Attorney, my dog, etc, but if there is shit news that disappoints me, I’ll share and discuss that too. When I look at messages by me from a while ago, those were way more negative. I’d say I’m pretty mild nowadays, lol.

As for other cons this year, or at least before ā€œE3ā€ are there any, where they can realistically announce it for Xbox? I genuinely think their June show has the biggest chance of that happening.

Was hoping to see FF XVI get announced here but wasn’t expecting it. If/when it gets announced for Xbox, I believe that it will be during a Keighley show or a main line Xbox showcase.

I myself played those 2 mana games through an emulator, I also think I had to patch trials(sd3) from a Japanese version to play it.

So a lot of the story could be completely different, Visions I started but put on pause to try and catch up with Episode Aegis for P3R. The fact everyones levels were reset is in P3R is a little annoying, but being able to just leave and come back and just download dlc persona(mostly just using P5 persona lol) helps make the dungeon crawling more appealing.

I will likely buy ffpr soon, but with P3R, Starfield, Trails, Visions and Metaphor I don’t know if I will be able to play it any time soon.

Yeah, it’s not the games that are of any negative, it’s the lack of time to play through them all. So many games and so little time.

I don’t think you are negative. You like games and react to current events with sincerity. I think it’s great quality. I really enjoyed reading your posts and hearing about your dog. You are a good person and deserve all my sympathy.

Xbox One did a lot of damages. This is about rebuild and it’s working. That said the work isn’t over and there’s more challenges to go, especially when one is blocking it, mainly in Chinese marketing. An uphill battle but no denying they’re doing a damn good job on the climb.
