Dunno, couldn’t wait and snagged a SX with the guy here in my city in a local store. Now just hope the guy can delivery it in the release date. Not holding my breath tho.
Do we expect any difficulties in preordering tomorrow like some countries have experienced?

Submarino might be the cheapest if we consider the AME cashback, but the cashback percentage on Amazon is higher and I have a Prime membership, so I expect a faster shipping from them.
Yeah, I’ve heard about this store. But since they are from Amazonas and I’m in São Paulo, the price and time to deliver is unacceptable for me.
I just simulated buying an One X from them. R$ 254,94 and 23 business days to deliver.

Sad things is, if it weren’t for the pandemic, they would be cheaper: the Xbox One S (1TB) is now R$ 2.500,00 on Americanas.com, but before pandemic you could buy it for around R$ 1.300,00, Xbox Series S would be certainly waaaaay cheaper since it will be sold for just R$ 500,00 more than the One S (R$ 3.000,00).

The problem with the prices today is more about stock.
The R$ 2500 One S you are seeing on Americanas is not sold by them — but by a third company that is using Americanas as a marketplace, probably selling an imported console which price was affected by the hike of the dollar.
Since the pandemic started Xbox stopped producing current gen consoles in a manner that they would not be available for purchase when the new gen dropped, specially since their prices are so similar. So we are not seeing official consoles being sold by official stores anymore, just smaller stores selling imported consoles at a higher price due to the lack of stock and hike of the dollar.
Microsoft officially launched the One S in Brazil for R$ 2199 in September 2017, when a dollar was worth R$ 3,17. Since a dollar today is worth R$ 5,66, taking the One S price as a base would put the Series S proportionally at a R$ 3926 price.
Ok, ficou tudo muito técnico pra continuar escrevendo em inglês. O que eu quero dizer é que a Microsoft teria condições de oferecer o Series S a um preço menor, mas se levarmos em consideração o preço do One S quando lançou e o valor do dólar na época, e aplicarmos uma simples regra de 3, teríamos o Series S a um preço bizarro de R$ 3926. Em suma, a Microsoft poderia ter feito melhor, mas também poderia ter feito muito pior. É só olhar o preço do PS5 Digital por aqui.
Então não acredito que a pandemia tenha aumentado o valor do console. Na verdade a pandemia contribuiu pra aumentar o valor do dólar, que foi determinante para o aumento do videogame — e de todos os eletrônicos, na verdade. Eu devia ter comprado a LG C9 quando ela estava custando R$ 4000…

Is what I’m seeing correct here, that the prices in Brazil are almost ~70% higher than that of some other markets?
Here in Australia, the Series S is $499 (vs. $768 equivalent in Brazil) and the Series X is $749 (vs. $1,281 equivalent in Brazil).
If so - Yikes, and I’m genuinely sorry for you guys…
that’s right and the minimum wage here Brazil is R $ 1,045.00. Series S costs 3 salaries.

The tax burden over videogames are excessive since they are classified as “gambling” in Brazil. Look at the amount of taxes a console has to suffer:
US$ 599 equals to R$ 3.391 as of today.
1,65% of PIS = R$ 55,95
7,60% of Cofins = R$ 257,71
25% of ICMS = R$ 847,75
35% of IPI = R$ 1.186,85
2,93% of other taxes = R$ 99,35
It all equals to a total estimate of R$ 5.838,61. The Series X price is actually R$ 4.999, so Microsoft has probably decided the price based on the dollar from a few months ago.
What sucks the most is that a dollar was worth R$ 1,77 in 2010. Today a dollar is worth R$ 5,66. All thanks to our own personal Trump.

Ok, eu analisei o preço do PlayStation 5 nas cinco principais redes varejistas do Brasil: Via Varejo (Extra, Ponto Frio e Casas Bahia), B2W (Submarino e Americanas), Amazon e Magazine Luiza.
A B2W é a única que oferece um desconto no pagamento à vista: 5%, o que derruba o preço para R$ 4.794,00.
As lojas da B2W também estão oferecendo Super Cashback pelo AME (4% - R$ 200) e 3% de cashback pelo Melliuz (R$ 143,82).

Extra e Ponto Frio oferecem 4,5% pelo Melliuz, sendo que se você tem cartão Santander o programa Esfera tá oferecendo 4 pontos por cada real gasto no Ponto Frio - o que totalizaria 20 mil pontos, o suficiente pra trocar por R$ 400 em gift card do Xbox.

Vi o Ps5 com disco neles por 4300. Se rolar esses preços no SX também já fica bem aceitável.

Bora de SX menino prodígio! Hoje começo a garimpar os preços! Melhor será encontrando um bom desconto e parcelamento sem juros no cartão.
Casas Bahia é Via Varejo também.
Interessante esse combo de pagamento à vista + AME + Meliuz no grupo B2W, tenho uns R$ 500 no AME/cupons ainda, pode chegar em um preço interessante. Vou ficar de olho.

Tinha reservado na Amazon mas troquei agora nas casas Bahia com o esquema pra pegar por 4500.
Foda que a casas Bahia já passa o cartão na hora então não tenho mais como trocar se surgir algo melhor.

Apareceu novamente no Submarino, com o saldo no AME que tinha mais o cashback gerado, saiu por R$ 4.325.
Primeira geração que estou embarcando no lançamento, feliz pra caramba.

EDIT Agora que vi, recebi cashback do Meliuz também, preço final ficou em R$ 4.182,59.
