3 million premium sales would be a disaster. Long term you are looking at 3% more players. 97% on Xbox and PC and 3% PS4+5. A pointless endeavour.
You need to look up the word âdisasterâ, you keep using it incorrectly.
Weâve just said Sea of Thieves has 40 million players in total - and that includes me, who tried it on Game Pass and tried the Pirates of the Caribbean mission for a bit.
Youâre saying 3 million sales on PS would only be 3%, so youâre saying thereâs 97 million SoT players on Xbox / PC.
There arenât, the developer themselves published the 40m figure recently.
So either youâre being obtuse as youâre worried about more games being ported to PS, or youâre trolling? Or you donât understand percentages maybe?
Again, Iâm not sure you understand the difference between players played vs premium sales.
3 million premium sales on PS5 is way more impactful to the bottom line over letâs say 10 million players who played it once or more via gamepass.
If they manage to hit 3 million or more sales on PS, that would be an incredible success for Microsoft/Xbox.
3 million buyers that potentially also buy a battle pass or whatever it is that SoT does
3 million players on Playstation is bare minimum 180 million dollars minus the 30% cut Sony gets. If thats âgarbageâ than I fail to see what success looks like.
I love that this has now been community noted. Itâs the best feature about X these days.
Easily the best feature.
Xbox HW diving into the Mariana Trench. Hope MS is ok with 20m ~ 40m HW sales per gen.
If theyâre planning on letting other stores into the Xbox ecosystem and with the talk about a leap compared to current tech. I think that Xbox is planning on not selling their console at a loss, so 20-40 million could make more money than selling it at a loss.
They should be that is still significant user base, many older succesful consoles never sold that much
