He did not name a studio, so keep your fingers crossed.
Just saw that itâs apparantly with XGP so itâs probably not them
Where?
I hadnât heard that
I believe thatâs what Jez said when he was talking about Compulsion and Josh Sawyerâs game, he also revealed the Vonnegut codename and something else
Vonne was XGP and the other was XGS in the article iirc
âMicrosoft is showing no signs of slowing down either. Xbox chief Phil Spencer this week noted that heâs exploring expanding Microsoftâs casual gaming portfolio through acquisitions, and I also received word of yet another upcoming Xbox Publishing partnership, codenamed âVonnegut,â presumably after the novelist Kurt Vonnegut, although beyond the gameâs codename, I have no information on exactly what that is or who could be making it. Vonnegut falls alongside another first-party title codenamed âVelvet,â although, once again, very little is known about who or what it could be.â
The paragraph in Jezâs article.
Both could be xgsp actually
Really hoping the Shadowrun rumor is true and based on the Super Nintendo version. Let me hire Dwarfs, Orcs, etc. and run rampant!!!
If itâs Global Publishing, then itâs obviously not Arkane or any other internal studio. Would be hilarious if the development studio turned out to be Eidos Montreal as another audition. lol. They would be a great fit too!!
Amen
One of the big reasons I want it to be Arkane is not only because Arkane are awesome and its a perfect IP for an RPG/Sim but if they bring back shadowrun I want them to go big
I dont want it used for some isometric game
You can be isometric and still be big. Most Shadowruns are isometric.
I want Shadowrun from Arkane OR an Obsidian AAA RPG, but come on.
Some of the best and highest rated RPGs are isometric. Isometric is not a genre, itâs a camera perspective. I understand it can be viewed as PC oriented game but it can easily be a great console game as well.
Im not saying it cant be a good game but nobody is choosing an isometric rpg over a Dishonored/Prey/Big open world rpg/sim, at least not the majority and certainly not me
I think Prey 2 is also in development. Wasnât Black Sky rumoured to be Prey 2 (Skullzi, Geforce Leaks).
That would mean Shadowrun is being made definitely by an xgsp partner.
The mystery that is left to solve - why is it called Vonnegut, if it is a Shadowrun related game. And who could be making it.
Prey was done by Austin who are doing Redfall so I doubt they are working on Prey 2 as well and im not sure Lyon would work on the other studioâs IP but aybe they are more connected than that
I saw that Black sky thing in the leaks, couldnt that just have been Deathloop?
All we know for sure is Lyon have had a new game in development since Deathloop launched
I hope Shadowrun is by XGSP honestly. Would rather see Arkane and inXile work on other games.
Really love the idea of inXile doing a Steampunk RPG and Arkane making an immersive sim in one of their unique worlds.
Deathloop, Black Sky, Spy Team were/are all Bethesda codenames or projects.
I think Redfall was also distinct, but would need to dive into the trademark files.
Itâs not like Shadowrun is an explored IP, pretty much nobody knows anything about it, its not like them suddenly doing a Fallout game or something
It would essentially be a new IP for 99% of people
These were all listed separately in the leaks?
Did it say which studios beside them?
Dlala Studios
