I thought Halo 4’s storytelling was a step up in every way personally. I liked the focus on Chief’s humanity and his relationship with Cortana. I liked the Didact as a villian. His story, I thought was well fleshed out and intriguing. I hate that he was killed off for real in a side story and not in Halo 5. The composer scene on the space station was crazy horrific, and for once you felt like Chief had a true challenge on his hands with the UNSC starting to turn on him for not handing Cortana over and having to go it basically alone. I would say the horrible story telling was In Halo 5 where the Didact is gone Blue Team abd Osiris show up out of nowhere and now Cortana is the villain. 4 and 5 felt so far apart that may as well have been different franchises. I would choose 4’s SP and MP anyday over 5.
It does sound like an interesting setting. I would kind of picture it like Cyberpunk mixed with Will Smith’s Netflix movie Bright. Elvs, Orcs, Fairies, and other mythical creatures mixed with future tech, robots, guns, and modern day people with modern day problems. It makes for a unique opportunity in a game to me. Make it 3rd person have nice combat with weapons and magic, a good story, and killer graphics then you have a winner.
What was wrong with Halo 4’s campaign? And for that matter, while the story was shit, there was nothing wrong with the gameplay and design of Halo 5 either.
Seems like Jez normally doesn’t talk about a game until it’s pretty close to being green lit. My favorite thing about all these code names is watching all the detectives on the internet figure out the studio that’s working on it lol. They have a massive list of projects in development gonna be a fun gen
Green lit doesn’t mean it’ll come out though. Anything that hasn’t been revealed officially (and sometimes even after that) is still in a risky position.
My concern is right now we have much more visibility than ever before and we also know that many projects don’t see the light of day, which is why they don’t get announced that early.
2021 Jez is throwing out everything, even if he only knows a codename.
