Hybrid seems like a hard word to trademark since it’s so widely used for other stuff. Could see it being part of a description but not so much the name. I’ve got a couple names I’d rather see them use, not that naming is a strong suit. Also this is probably kinda off topic now that I see where it’s posting.

It IS silly, why can’t Xbox just go with “case by case” ?
MS has so many devs and pubs, each game is different with IP history or NEW IP and no one rule would or should apply to all of them.
It’s just lazy to keep insisting that MS HAS to pick a lane, no they will port games when they feel it is beneficial and then make exclusives when they feel it is beneficial.
Nothing else makes any sense and MS should not cater to talk of having to push them in a defined position for EVERY game.
No one is pressuring Sony to pick a lane on PC releases, they are just a few years behind MS in their porting efforts, Marathon is multi plat so is MLB, why not the rest? Why is no one hounding Sony about this in decision?

Isn’t all the media against Xbox. The point is this are big media, and they do carry a lot of weight.
Then they need to say that clearly as far as I know case by case is still something that was leaked from the regulatory filings.

They do not need to say shit, the only reason the media is goading them to talk is so they can prop up future articles when they have to contradict that as the industry changes. I think Xbox learned that lesson
Phil has said case by case and case by case is the best description of what they are doing and that also is the best description going forward. Their is ZERO reason for Xbox to paint itself in a corner just because the media wants more doom and gloom Xbox click bait articles.
If case by case bothers you then it’s time to find another gaming platform, Nothing is being taken away from Xbox users and if that ends up happening that will be the time when they announce things.

Where did he say case by case? You asked a question, and I just gave my 2 cents nothing more. I am not in the least bothered by the multiplatform approach, if anything I’m interested in seeing where it leads.

Speaking to following the announcement of the acquisition, Xbox chief Phil Spencer said that future Bethesda games will be released on PC and Xbox, and via Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
As for third-party platforms, Spencer said, “We’ll take other consoles on a case-by-case basis.”

That is very old and for something very specific. What I assume @Haven is talking about is the current situation.
Why do they have to keep talking about something they have already addressed? Case by Case was stated and their plans show they are taking that approach I fail to see the issue here besides wanting to corner them so when plans change people can get up in arms about it.
Sorry you get “Case By Case” and then you need to determine if that is something you can deal with. if not their are many other gaming options available.
The current situation is literally an extension of what Phil says here about how they are deaing with these things.
Phil says “Case by Case” and low and behold a few years later Xbox is releasing games on other consoles in a manner that certainly seems “Case by Case”. It’s almost like their multi plat plans are actually “Case by Case”

Because that is exactly what is happening today, He said Case by case and these are the actions Xbox is taking. I’m not sure what is so hard to understand? The interview was in regards to Bethesda games going forward, we are now in the forward part of that timeline and the decisions being made align with these statements.
Seriously this is just getting obtuse and boring, if you can’t accept “Case by Case” then please either learn to accept it or find something else but don’t act like this whole thing is some mystery that they did not talk about before.
They said “Case by Case” and are moving forward on a “Case by Case” basis, end of story
