Xbox multi platform discussion

It’s also do with not wanting the PS audience to cut the game off from their radar when the hype is highest, so now the PS audience will also be involved in the hype cycle during Xbox and PC release.

Yeah, that makes no sense . Why not try and maximize sales if the game is just delayed for like 4 months. I don’t understand what they’re thinking business wise. They’re going to miss the hype cycle and Playstation gamers might just wait for sale since there’s no longer FOMO

or at least save it for the video game awards and announce that to a bigger audience

You’re getting the game first and on GP while PS5 players have to wait and pay 70

Not sure how that’s second fiddle

lol okay.

The biggest part of the announcement was that it was also coming out for PS5 in the Spring. It was literally described as a “one more thing”.

ok? doesn’t change anything, Xbox users certainly aren’t being treated as second fiddle in this regard

Yeah, I mean, a slightly awkward reveal as strategy pivots is hardly worth $70 to me.

ETA: TBC, I mean, I don’t care about the announcement if i’m still saving money

This. Oh well. It is what it is.

The first system mentioned in the video is Xbox….

Because some of us don’t give a damn about any of that other stuff and just want to play a hopefully great game at no extra cost asap.

It isn’t just Indiana Jones, but Towerborne as well which is prioritizing PC players with Steam Early Access. Yes, they said it’s coming soon to Xbox Game Preview. However, the point is Xbox owners shouldn’t have to wait. Either put it into Xbox Game Preview alongside Steam Early Access or delay it.

IJ coming to multiplat consoles is a smart move imo. The IP isn’t even more relevant than the IP that took major inspiration (Uncharted) from it anymore.

Glad they reversed that decision.

That’s fine, but I’m asking the question from a business perspective.

I’m curious what school of marketing the Xbox marketing team went to where it makes total logical business sense to announce a release date, then completely overshadow it by announcing it will also release on your competitor’s platform a few months later. I have never witnessed such a market strategy before.

You guys gotta get tired of repeating yourselves at this point.

We have no insight to their business decisions, so why work yourself up? For all we know, these are concessions Xbox had to make when negotiating with Disney. As for the release being overshadowed, to each their own, I seriously don’t care as I’ll be playing on Dec 9th.

At this point, fighting over the decisions of a trillion-dollar company no longer makes sense.

I prefer to continue (and will continue investing) where it seems best to me.

At least Microsoft was able to cure motion sickness from first person games

And remove yet another game from the what was rather promising second half of this year for Xbox? Hell naw. Unless they kept Avowed for this year, fine then. But I see no good reason at all to delay Indy so it releases on both console platforms at the same time. I see no good in that.

previews look good, i just hope the puzzles are not too much on the easy side.

would be a perfect launch title for Switch 2. just saying.

And they don’t. You could access it as part of the Xbox Insider program for quite some time now. If you’re really bent on playing games before they’re in a released state, xbox console gamers have had ample opportunities to do so.
