Maybe it’s like gossip going around and there are a couple of layers of telephone in between depending on the info? Haha
That’s what I’m referring to. Like if they do work there or whatever, what benefit do you get out of it by leaking the info? Do the guy send cookie or something?
I am seeing on Twitter that Shinobi (guy who started the rumor) deleted his post about the rumor. Then it looked like they deleted their megathread about the post. All seems very odd. I assume he got in trouble because dude is in the industry and I’ve always wondered how he’s allowed to be in the industry and an insider at the same time
lol was it fake?
He works in the industry, being a leaker is not smart
Doesn’t Shinobi work at/for Wushu Studios and they’re working on State of Decay 3 as a support studio? If so, yeah, not the smartest decision by him. The worse part is that I don’t see the point in leaking all this stuff because as an Xbox fan, I know this already. I know Microsoft will be porting more games to Sony/Nintendo platforms. I don’t need to see leaks. When Microsoft announces it, then everyone can talk about it. We all know more are coming as they’ve said so like me, just wait and see what game is next. Either way, I don’t care because people playing for example Doom: The Dark Ages on PlayStation 5 isn’t going to change if I like/dislike the game. It changes nothing for me.
i dont understand why you would tell these people anything secret. you know they are running to Twitter to tell anybody
I’ll be honest, it would be nice to see State of Decay 2 get a bunch of new players and esp if it makes that studio more secure
Absolutely!
2024 - The year of leaker getting into trouble like hot water trouble. Ask those two that used to leak Nintendo stuff and apparently anything Persona/Japanese games.
Its honestly amazing that Shinobi has been able to get away with leaking/hinting for as long as he has.
Has he be leaking things normally, because I only hear things like this like he secretly wants people to burn. I don’t recall any other kind of leak coming from him.
Around the time As Dusk Falls was announced for Playstation, he said that more Xbox games would be coming. That was way before anyone in the media was aware of Xbox’s multiplat push.
He and Nate typically just participate in the conversation at hand but will occasionally say something they know if its relevant to the topic.
It’s like if a discussion was going on and you know what everyone is speculating about and you have to fight the temptation to not say anything and you sometimes lose that fight.
I know and I wasn’t saying he was wrong or anything. Just don’t think I hear any kind of leak that isn’t this topic. But as someone mentioned about supporting studio, perhaps that’s how he gets the info? I don’t know. Either way, leakers this year have been getting more scrutinized. It’s like industry is finally tired of them ruining the fun.
I just have to say, if this is true, I’m not a fan of it. I don’t care if a game has been out for several years, you don’t anger your fanbase and help out your competition.
This helps out PlayStation and Sony, not Xbox or Microsoft, because once people find out all you have to do is wait a few years to play Xbox games, they’ll skip buying an Xbox and just buy a PlayStation.
And with a stagnating market, Sony will eventually do the same. They will take more time, as usual, but they will get there eventually, especially if it works great for Microsoft. The market is changing pretty quickly, MAU is what is interesting to Microsoft and Sony is also saying the same now.
I can understand people not being fan of this move, but at the same time the 360 era is long gone now. Services and features is what is gonna differentiate the hardware in the future.
That so-called fanbase is angered by LITERALLY EVERYTHING and is impossible to please, as we’ve seen multiple times now. I’m not surprised if Microsoft just says “fuck this” at some point. I know I would!
If your fanbase consists largely of 40-year-old cheapskates who cheat the system to use Game Pass for free and then still complain about everything… what’s the point?
How are millions of dollars and more exposure not helping Xbox? How are more players for live service games not helping Xbox? How is taking players away from Sony’s own games not helping Xbox?
And gamers are notorious for their FOMO. The vast majority of game sales are on release. If people haven’t bought an Xbox yet, they’re not going to. Might as well milk them on other platforms.
Console warriors are a toxic remnant of the past, and the sooner Xbox leaves them behind, the better. This platform deserves better.
The market is stagnant but there’s an additional 40M Xbox users that they can chip away at without having to port anything. I think you will see a first party only Game Pass on PlayStation long before you see a PlayStation flagship hit Xbox.
Times are changing and they need to expand the market to get the industry working. I believe the move is towards a singular format like the movies where the content and store are what matters and not so much the box. Remember there was a time when both HD DVD and Blu ray were competing. That wasn’t great for consumers. I think the media reporting on this has been pretty poor. Non of the media is taking the time to investigate, understand and enlighten the masses, rather they’ve just proliferated the gloom and Doom. I think the fan base would be less angered if they had some clear answers. This actually helps out everyone if the market is expanded and might even save jobs and stop or curtail the layoffs to a measure. People are cheap they will not wait especially when there is very little barrier.
