Mostly thinking its Helllblade 2 at best. Given the first game launched to Playstation first.
But’s that’s personal opinion and what i think makes sense the most. Also won’t generate a shock to most folks as its very feasible given what i spoke.
Thiswould be the MOST ideal scenario, where playstation won’t be able to moneyhat games as much as it did and that could actually benefit more games than ever before. I saw many folks online wanting Xbox Publishing to help with the game Penny Blood and i gotta say it would be very interesting if it turns out that way. That team got screwed in the worst way possible.
My tinfoil hat theory is that Xbox out of its own volition proposed to Kojima to make OD a day 1 release on PS5 (/and Switch 2 and of course Steam), which on top of the guaranteed Game Pass revenue made the deals with Sony look like in comparison. So Kojima Productions threatened to walk away from the tactical espionage game as it’s still early days on that one unless they renegotiate the deals for both Death Stranding and the new IP.
I’m aware of that and while I can see it being announced for PlayStation 5, I don’t believe that it will be on the actual State of Play. Before/during/after? Sure but ON the actual show? Nope.
I’m kinda thinking that it’ll be Forza Horizon 5, as that’s already been announced, and all it needs is the date. Spring would also put it in line for the Switch 2.
I disagree to be honest. I think Forza makes sense on the direct then state of play. Bigger audience then playstation and i think it could be a winning hand for the franchise.
Regarding what Phil Spencer said about differentiating through hardware, I do wonder what it could be besides the obvious AI integration. One thing though that I would like is a mini screen.
I sort of think Sony might be looking for some sort of win as they have been seriously on the decline recently and many are calling them out. I’m not sure what they could show that would generate any buzz than something from Microsoft. like Forza and Hell blade. Starfield could be possible, but I doubt it that seems more like a Keighley or the new Es announcement. They’ll probably try to align Elden ring with this and maybe a new gameplay and release date for Lost Soul Aside.
I really doubt they want Microsoft taking front stage of their own showcase, its not wise for them.Unless is to portray Xbox in a negative light and put them on a spot which i see being the most likely scenario if that were the case given Sony tactics during Jim and Shawn’s era.
Another Xbox game on PlayStation is undoubtedly another victory for Sony and the overall effect will be positive for PlayStation and also for Microsoft’s publishing strategy. On the other hand, we will probably have a Bungie game exclusive to PlayStation, showing that Sony is increasingly moving in the opposite direction to those who think the industry is changing. I have no doubt that From Software will also present console exclusivity on PlayStation in the future.
Edit: I believe that Sony will even adopt some multiplatform measures, but with PC and at most on the Switch if they understand that it is not a competitor to the PlayStation. They will increasingly exclude the Xbox, thinking about a dominance on the home console.
If they have to do it, I hope Xbox splash their logo everywhere yes they may get some heat about it Xbox pimping themselves out at an PlayStation but……. If they get their logo branded all over an a large casual PlayStation audience they may get some mindshare where people start associating Xbox with positive and good games, it might make people look at Xbox and be intrigued & find gamepass
PlayStation is not increasingly moving in a different direction. They’re getting closer to day and date on PC.
Again, you guys keep couching thing in the older style of how to make money and they’ve made it clear that they’ve moved beyond that. We just need to wait and see what their overall plans end up being.
I highly doubt Sony will keep on the exclusive front as it isn’t working for them. The highest sale they have had on console exclusivity is with Spiderman 2 at around 10 million. Ragnarök had 15million but it was bundled and also on PS4. Hell divers would be the highest for this gen at 12 million but most of that is from PC. I doubt Ghost of Yotei or Intergalactic would break 5million even Sea of thieves only managed 1 million on both PS4 & PS5 cumulatively. They are just not selling software, and I think they might be running out of the goodwill of PC.
My guess is they will probably start looking for a way to go Xbox as well at least with titles like Spiderman. The only thing doing numbers is live games and for single player games to do well you will need to spend a fortune on marketing or have a service like Game Pass that can familiarize gamers with the IP.
I do not see any console exclusive from Fromsoftware for Sony unless it’s a Sony IP.
True, but you can somewhat understand why some here are slightly cynical in regards to Sony, given their track record of trying to screw Xbox over.
It would be massive news if Sony ported a well known IP on Xbox like say Sly Cooper or something along those lines. But until that day comes all we came to is make theories on the possiblity.
Stop going to extremes. Their plan is to sell their games everywhere when it makes sense and we’ll have to see exactly what their next gen strat is. Rumors are it’s a “play anywhere” focus where Xbox dev is one SKU that gives you a pc/cloud/console version. Until we know I’m not going to assume too much about it.
