These companies must be just throwing their money away & seeing no benefit
I think Microsoft will come to this point too. They are surely doing that with their partnerships with other football clubs. And them getting Netflix ads deal. They are aware that they need more marketing.
I agree just creating that mindshare would really good. With the amount of people using Netflix.
I would also try to get the Xbox documentary power on, streaming on Netflix that would catch people’s eyes as well
Yeah, I never understood why they did not do that.
I don’t think this has been posted irn this thread, apologies if it already was.
Microsoft does cross product promotions, probably mentioned in the commercials for the products too.
All of our answers will vary due to the diversity on this website. Americans and Brits might see constant marketing for Xbox, Euros might see the opposite, etc etc.
I don’t think there’s one right answer due to that.
It’s interesting that you can get the Forza Doritos outfit by buying a Rockstar drink (which if I recall correctly is owned by Coke? And Doritos is owned by Frito-Lay, owned by Pepsi), but the Doritos have the Madden item exclusively. They should have made a Rockstar can costume as well…
Watching a random Cardinals vs Phillies playoffs game and they just showed off a PlayStation commercial
I feel like I haven’t seen Xbox on TV in a long time lol.
Well MLB the Show has been on Gamepass for 2 years, so I can see it both ways. Either you don’t need to advertise because free on Gamepass is enough of a selling point or you should advertise because baseball fans on Xbox will presumably be watching baseball on tv so your target demographic is watching.
Whenever there is an MLB The Show ad on TV they always show all the consoles it’s available on at the end of the commercial, at least I don’t think I’ve seen a commercial where they only show the PlayStation, no mention of Gamepass though, but anyway this certain commercial didn’t talk about any game in specific, it was just a regular commercial about the console itself, I’ve seen commercials like it from Xbox before but haven’t in a while, playoffs games are always a great time to show off these commercials due to the millions of people watching them.
I think we’ll only have a clear idea of their marketing push/strategy once everything that is marketable is in line: the 1st party games, console supply, and potentially the full launch of xCloud. All those seem to be coming together in 2023.
This is a good point you’d hope when they’ve got the games to back it up they’d really push hard with the marketing
Starfield’s marketing is going to be off the chain.
In what region do you live?
Canada
Never seen any of these.

Copied from the kitchen sink thread…
Better marketing than for the first party games
That’s brilliant.
