Kinda cool, but holy moly how frustrating it would be to try to use them. I imagine most are redeemed in seconds, followed by hundreds or thousands of people trying and failing.
Unless of course they’re not one-time-use codes, in which case nevermind.
I don’t understand why they can just do a commercial for gamepass that makes it look like blockbuster video game rentals without the late fee? I mean it’s that simple.
People heard of gamepass but have no idea what it is
I agree. I thought that for backwards compatibility of Activision games being added, but it could sneak in additional announcements such as…
Xbox should produce a ad /sketch for E3 (or the inevitable Activision acquisition showcase later this summer) with celebrities like tony hawk and pierce brosnan in a 2000s era video store asking to rent 007 games and Pro skater games. Also thought it would be a good way to tease the return of 007 and Tony Hawk games in the future. Basically hit people with nostalgia about renting games, announce a partnership with io for exclusivity of 007 on Xbox, announce Tony Hawk contract for future games, announce backwards compatibility of 007/Tony Hawk games, promote Gamepass, get media attention by using celebrities, turn your skit into 30 second commercials promoting Xbox and Gamepass.
Also crash bandicoot in his costume shows up at the “blockbuster” too. Crash has his same voice style from those classic 90s commercials. Crash games also get announced and made backwards compatible.
There could be 3 sketches spread throughout the presentation.
