Can’t really hold back, if games is not ready. Let me break it down for you.
Santa Monica Studio just finished God Of War. Their next game is 5 plus years away.
Guerrilla Games just finished Forbidden West. Their next game is 5 plus years away.
Sucker Punch? Their next game is probably Ghost of Tsushima 2. It’s probably 3 plus years away.
Bend Studio? Whatever they are working on is probably 2-3 plus years away also.
Naughty Dog, Factions 2 got delay, needs more work. Their next major game is probably 5 plus years away also, since they are know to be slow ass hell. TLOU2 took them 7 plus years and it came without Factions 2.
Bluepoint Games. Whatever they are making that is not a remaster or remake will probably be 3 plus years away also.
Housemarque? Whatever they are making after Returnal, maybe Returnal 2? Is probably 3 plus years away.
Polyphony Digital is known to be the slowest Sony 1st party studio team. They are even slower than Naughty Dog.
That pretty much it. AAA games takes 5 years to make nowdays. I don’t think they are holding back, it’s just not ready to be shown.

I won’t blame you for not knowing, so I will tell you. After PS Showcase, people were very upset at the delivering. It got to the point new excuses were made and one of them is PS is holding back because there are other events like Gamescom or Summer Game Fest. That’s why the showcase was lackluster, because they want to give some to others. I am mocking that claim when I said them. In short, I was being sarcastic.
What you said is absolutely correct. They take time and people will have to accept the fact.

Bro… This is what I BEEN saying throughout different threads but you articulated it better than me. 2024 and maybe even 2025 is gonna be “humbling” experience for the anti-Xbox crowd and they are gonna know how Xbox owners felt. Outside of Wolverine, I can’t think of any upcoming or heck any PS games that are rumored to be in development. Sony released most(not all) their big guns early.
Imagine if they show the new characters for Redfall…

Just drop the update with a twitter post and release a character trailer when the dlc is out, nobody wants to see this at a show

I don’t even hate the game, it’s got major issues but iv had fun
but it’s clear what the general reception of the game is and if it’s get’s shown, people will just clown on it, just not worth it imo
