That second article is fucked because you can just see him saying Xbox lied straight after if it’s not there. I hope it’s there in a huge way that stops them from being able to go ahead with the bs.
At least the IGN title is not trash, the Forbes one on the other hand - “Xbox WILL show off Fable”…well it’s Tassi’s “article” so…yeah. ![]()
If Fable is not going to be there, surely Greenie or someone will see all this hubbub and get an announcement out to defuse the frenzy. No way they would let anticipation build for another 10 days just to pull the rug out from everyone. That would be a huge own goal.
I guess no Fable showing will make up for no Factions 2 showing, even though the latter was far more expected since it was “promised” to show up the following year (2023).
If it’s not really coming then It’s a lose/lose situation
They say it’s not coming and people will whine, they say nothing and don’t show it and people will whine all because gamers are stretch armstrong’s and then blame others when their expectations aren’t met
Conversely, Xbox intern unknowingly makes a hype tweet for that showcase which hypes everyone up for fable. Now Xbox and Phil are scrambling and begging Playground to make an in-engine game trailer at the 11th hour, because walking back will cause too much uproar.
4D chess from Matt Booty.
- Booty has wanted to show Fable for a while.
- Playground has consistently vetoed him.
- Booty gets the PR team to make the “Fable” video.
- Internet firestorm results.
- Booty “forces” Playground to give him something for the Showcase.
I might actually believe that if I thought Playground could throw something together that looked good in ten days.
I’ll take off my tinfoil hat now.
Yeah, I really hope if it isn’t there, that the marketing comes out and says to calm down expectations… But if it is… Then kudos to the marketing team for getting people hyped for the showcase.
They don’t need to do that, they just need a video similar to Crackdown 3’s dev trailer… Where devs discuss the game with footage in the background…
This is all based on the hypothetical that Fable isn’t ready to be shown.
Fable has felt like a 2025 game to me for a very long time now so I just don’t see them having something substantial or ready to show this soon
I guess something in-engine might be possible but even that’s doubtful for me

I’m keeping my expectations in check. Starfield gets its own thing, we’ll see a bit of Forza Motorsport and almost certainly Hellblade. Other than that, give me any first party stuff they feel comfortable in showing some gameplay footage for, maybe CG for a surprise or two that’s further out, and some third party Game Pass entries that aren’t GaaS malarkey, and I’ll consider it a good show.
Didn’t the official Xbox twitter account tweet out that Fable teaser? If so, it’s 100% on Microsoft to know if it’s being shown or not. If not, it’s on them for teasing it so if it’s not there and people bash them for it and rightfully so, that’s 100% on them for teasing it in the first place.
None of the Xbox accounts should tease or say anything in my opinion.
That teaser feels too much like Fable for it not to be Fable, but Idk why I get the feeling Xbox would be the types to tease it even though it won’t be there at all ![]()
Sure but this implies that what MS actually posted was a Fable teaser which people are assuming because of bloody glitter and music that isn’t even from Fable
Are you sure the music is not from Fable? I haven’t played any Fable games so I wouldn’t know.
People think it sounds similar to music from Fable 1 I believe but it’s not the same music
If it was the actual music I’d actually be on the hype train but it feels like people are just trying to put things together because of hopium
It’s not from Fable. Just similar to Bowerstone OST, a town in Fable.
Too soon Shadow… too soon.
Is the “Fable tease” intentional?
- Yes (all aboard the hype train)
- No (I think we are reading too much into it…)
