I’d put some money on not seeing everything announced in 2020, as much as I’d love to see them.

People expecting those 2020 games to be shown just because they were announced years ago are going to be disappointed

The games were announced far too early and it’s ok to be annoyed by that but expecting them to show up because of when they were announced is setting yourselves up for disappointment

If the games are not ready to show then don’t show them, they should still have plenty of great stuff to show without those games

I’d put money on most of the big 2020 games not being there, some will be saved for TGA and some wont be ready till next year

I think we’ll see either Indiana Jones or a new game announcement from the Bethesda/ZeniMax teams. It would make sense to show what to look forward to from them now that they won’t have anything announced outside of Indy (and ES6 if that counts when its 3+ yrs out).

Is there a rumor out there that Tango is working on a JRPG? Never heard that before. Do we know any details about it?

I don’t expect them all to be there. SoD 3? Very much doubt it. Fable? Nah.

Hellblade 2 seems very likely. But I would hope finally a freaking proper update on Avowed isn’t too much to ask. Phil mentioned both games, I’m hoping for that exact reason.

I think Avowed has to be a lock for this showcase, right? Imo the locks are Starfield (duh), Forza, Hellblade and Avowed.

It really has to be! It’s actually quite way overdue now if we keep in mind what they said about showing it soon. Something must have happened, but we were all kept in the dark about it.

I wouldn’t be shocked to see something relatively significant from Fable. Wasn’t there a rumor a while back that Playground really wanted to show something off at last year’s show but MS held it back due to the 12 month narrative? My brain is like swiss cheese at this point, so I could be thinking of something else. :smile:

MS basically has to show their cards for 2023 and 2024. They need to create some hype for short to mid term In order to get some momentum going with sales and get more people in their ecosystem.

I may be wrong, but I think MS wanted to show Fable but Playground told them no. So it is the reverse of what you said, but either way it bodes well for seeing Fable sooner than later.

I agree completely. I’m hoping/expecting -

  • Avowed (gameplay trailer, May/June 2024)
  • Contraband (gameplay trailer)
  • Fable (short gameplay trailer)
  • Forza Motorsport (gameplay trailer, November 2023)
  • Gears of War 6 (CGI teaser trailer)
  • Hellblade 2 (gameplay trailer, February/March 2024)
  • Indiana Jones (gameplay trailer)
  • Perfect Dark (gameplay trailer)

I’m hoping for updates on Stalker 2, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn and others. I’m also hoping for major AAA third party multi-platform games. Maybe the next Metro game, Mafia IV, Dragon’s Dogma 2, etc.

I can see that project The Coalition was working on being a Gears remaster collection in Unreal Engine 4/5 that gets announced and shown followed by a CGI teaser for Gears 6 which would be smart because those who haven’t played the older Gears games would be more interested in jumping in since Gears 6 would be upcoming.

You realize this is mostly Xbox Game Studios. i do not know what we can expect from Bethesda, but it could double that list.

I expect something for Minecraft, something for Sea of Thieves, something for MS Flight Simulator, and something from Age of Empires- trebuchets anyone?

Bethesda shouldn’t have much ready since they just released Redfall and HiFi Rush, and some other games in 2022-2021 to be fair.

This said, i expect at least 3 games from that list to not be on the showcase, hope i am wrong.
