Haha, well I hope this one lives up to your expectations then!
Umm I worked in game development. We definitely separated it out that way. We did not consider artists/designers creating models, textures, assets, missions, within our engine to be developers. Even in grad school education for game development, it is separated that way.
I too was in game development lol
Ok well maybe it is different based on where you work then. Seems semantic anyway. But for the purposes of the prior discussion, what was important was whether the person had an understanding of how the engine worked. Besides advanced technical artists, nobody else besides what you’re calling engineers would.
I say only this: If Xbox already announced its showcase It means they are very sure about their line-up.
It is undeniable that they have a lot to show. The question, what is gonna be shown there.
Oh wow in what cave have I been?! ONE SINGLE SHOWCASE LETS FREAKING GOOOOOOO!!!
I also like 4+ hour shows (watch Iron Lords Podcast every week), but of course it won’t gonna happen. Ideally I guess they will do a showcase, show somerthing on Summer Game Fest and probably something on Gamescon & TGA (hope different trailers at least). Maybe some deep dives before the release.
Agreed, I really think Xbox would do well to have the big E3 blowouts but smaller showcases throughout the year (I’m not saying to model after Nintendo’s or Sony’s by any means), and with the amount of studios and projects soon to be under the Xbox umbrella they’re going to need to.
True. And we can even look at ABK - Blizzard for example already did WOW reveal and are planning to do a mobile showcase. It would be considered Xbox showcase too. Kinda.
Activision
Microsoft
Doesn’t Microsoft usually announce their showcase a good month or so in advance? It’s more Nintendo and Sony that announce these things days prior
HassanDOOORRRRRR!!!
Last year they announced showcase on May 26th for the June 13th.
Guess, they really know what they are gonna show this time. I wonder which third parties will come there.
Honest guess? Bandai Namco, EA, Sega, and Focus Entertainment.
