Xbox Game Studios |OT9| How many games would a game studio make if a game studio could make games?

Agreed, but it’s MW2022 (or 2023 depending on when it releases)

At least it should be. You can reuse Modern Warfare, when you’re tryng to reboot the franchise. But that’s it. You don’t just reuse MW2 and MW3 after that

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: 2 (2022)

Modern Warfare Deux: Duh

At least that’s how I thought it should be read

Nah, developer typically refers to software developers, which dont even have to be engineers per se, but they write software. Engineers typically have a greater understanding of the HW and so would be more familiar with writing low level code. There are also designers and artists, which are not developers and are what the other titles you listed fall under.

Do we think CoD is a Xbox show thing this year? I think Sony will likely have marketing rights still, no?

If a deal is in place with Sony already, that will absolutely be the case.

No chance. Sony still has the marketing deal.

Good! :stuck_out_tongue:

Back when Xbox still had deals with CoD, and they featured it at their show it was always one of my least favorite parts. What can I say, I’m so tired of CoD, lol.

Hope it can become something truly great again.

Idk where you’re getting that from. That works in a traditional software sense, but not in game development. Anyone working in the engine and on the game hands on is a developer. The only group I wouldn’t really classify as a developer are producers.

I’ll wait for Game Pass.

So there’s hype for the new CoD, but what makes it different this time? What are they doing for the game that makes it so hype worthy? More than usual?

Waiting doesn’t exist for me when it comes to COD :joy: well it used to I skipped every cod since MW19 but will preorder the shit out of this new one, bought the night vision goggles for MW2019 and shockingly enough they actually work really well.

MW19 was the “reboot” for cod and it was highly praised and everyone was saying COD is back, then they stumbled again every game after that so going back to what brought COD back is exciting.

To each their own! Incredibly meh for me

Sure, I’ll play through the campaigns on Game Pass because why not.

I used to get excited for COD that much I would actually spend more money on the NZ copy of the game to play early  it was a huge shock to the system skipping my first cod since cod 4 in 2020.
