Xbox Game Studios |OT9| How many games would a game studio make if a game studio could make games?

Yep, Series S is doing its job.

I’m also curious why PC Game Pass growth grew that much suddenly, it’s because of the branding change right?

Riot’s games are not… console games, but Project L should be a console game, I agree, and it has no excuse not to.

They have been pushing it a lot. Instead of being associated with Xbox console, as if their games can only co-exist with console, they have been releasing games that only you can get from PC. I remember some here were not happy about it. But look at the result. Why argue when it’s working.

They were releasing PC-only games before already though. Even from the very beginning of the PC service.

I have no evidence of this, but I think the name change to “PC Game Pass” has helped.

There’s a bad reputation around the PC windows store Xbox app for GamePass, they’ve made some changes to it but there’s still issues.

Not as much as this year. We had half month of nothing but PC only games on game pass. In the past, there were like one or two standalone. This year, the focus is a lot stronger, including rebranding, making the server a lot better, and all previous marketing to Game Pass itself now showing long-term result. It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon.

Thats impressive growth for PC Game Pass and xCloud. Satya mentioned 10 million xCloud users in May iirc, now its 20 million.

They’ve also been going hard on PC exclusive titles, like Age of Empires, Total War, the League of Legends/Valorant deal and others. I imagine that’s the primary reason, although the branding certainly helps.

I know people get annoyed at PC only content but it’s the correct strategy and what they need to be doing to grow PC Game Pass alongside console. The PC market has different needs and they shouldn’t avoid getting big titles simply because they aren’t on console.

The differences also give more reason to own both a gaming PC and a series x… Cross save is also fantastic

And guess what, its growth is simply hindered by its availability in certain markets

It’s upto xbox how fast they can bring it to other markets

Tbh I wish Redfall had playable vampires. It’s not everyday we get vampire games.

Harvey said the vampires in Redfall are not meant to be aspirational, so I doubt playable vampires will be a thing personally. I know you’re talking from a gameplay rather than a story perspective, but still.

It would also draw unhelpful comparisons to L4D ad B4B.

Fortnite is definitely a big part of that.

because those 3 games are same in core so most people mentioned left for dead and B4B. 4 players shooting zombie/non-humans stuff. it’s just simple as that.

8 games already stacked up for xbox in 2023

5 new and 3 ports
