These gifs represent some of the best moments in the game. Absolute epic! Halo 3 is one of the best games of all time!
While I know absolutely nothing about where the game is in production process, I honestly wouldn’t use open positions as a major indicator of how far along it is, especially because this does not seem like a ton of jobs. Studios are going to be growing, and they will be working on multiple projects, and positions either come up that they need or that people move on from.
I’d put more stock in what someone like Jeff Grubb is hearing than seeing open positions and assuming it’s further out, though obviously he could be wrong or things could be pushed back after him hearing something.
Just a thought though so take it as you want.
Does anyone know of a good site to download good desktop backgroups? Especially game related ones? I downloaded a bunch over 5 years go but i got a new computer from my work and forgot to transfer before I gave the old one back.
Of course it’s not always the case of how far along the game is. But the way things have been going and with how many games have been delayed across the entire industry not just across Xbox I wouldn’t be surprised if the game is still far off.
And if the game comes out soon I would rather be surprised than expect it to come out in 2024 because that’s what insiders are saying only to be disappointed.
OK, that’s a fair viewpoint, that it’s better to be surprised than disappointed, sure. And I also wouldn’t trust what most people say about timing other than that Jeff actually does talk to industry people a lot and while sometimes is wrong, seems to have more accurate info than most. And it’s quite possible they’re targeting 2023 now but it could be delayed to 2024 before it gets announced, I’m sure that type of delay happens much more frequently than we’re aware of, even before the last few years.
I think some of the delays this year are because companies are seeing that it’s safer to delay now while they can put at least some of the blame on conditions, so maybe more are trying to avoid bad launches by pushing back than would have before. Personally, while it’s annoying for consumers, I think it’s great that quality and maybe working conditions are more important now, so I am all for stuff getting delayed if they want to. Anyway, I don’t have any stake in when anything is coming out, I just didn’t agree with the job postings being the main reason for thinking it was a later time frame.
343 has enough to worry about as it is. They should wait until the 20th anniversary.
Edit: Also, Halo 3 REALLY doesn’t need the anniversary treatment like CE and 2 did. It would be nice, but the current version of 3 in MCC already looks and runs far superior to the original.
State of decay 2 is highly underrated. One of best zombie games. The community aspect is awesome, more people should try it now.
Can’t wait for state of decay 3
SoD3 should be huge. Some other games might eat its lunch though - like The Day Before or maybe Factions - but considering that the Day Before is consistently on the top of the most wishlisted games - with SoD having legacy and the established community + launching simultaneously on PC, Xbox, xCloud and Game Pass with additional marketing push it will be something special.
Isn’t The Day Before a some sort of scam like Star Citizen? And Factions is not really similar.
Depends on Factions 2 are done. It won’t have base building and companions for sure, but maybe it will be closer to DayZ. I don’t know anything about The Day Before aside it being constantly on the first place in the most wishlisted.
I don’t think factions 2 nor days before will have similar community features. That’s what define state of decay imo. The emergent gameplay that also arise from those features is great. Makes me feel like I’m in the walking dead.
I don’t think we will see it till late 2024 though.
It sure is. It’s been great since it got enhanced and now runs at 60 fps. I had to delete it earlier this month, as it was always pulling me back in and eating up time I should be spending on clearing up my backlog!
I’m looking forward to State of Decay 3 and hoping that it has far better visuals, meaning fully realistic and looks like Days Gone if not better. Also hoping there’s an actual story similar to that of the first game. I wish they would eliminate the permadeath for SOD 3 and instead, have preset characters with their own stats and play style. You choose one and they all would have different story arcs even though the main theme would still be the same for every character. The base building and recruiting can obviously stay as is which was in my opinion the best thing about SOD 2 by far. Also hoping they make far better combat, animations, make it more fluid and responsive. And of course, minimal technical bugs and issues.
I loved the original State of Decay but dropped SOD 2 after about 15 hours and literally gave my copy to a friend at work because I was so disappointed with the game. For me personally, SOD 3 will either win me back or the series is done for me. It’s entirely up to Microsoft and Undead Labs in regards to which way that goes.
The Day Before is a game that looks great but they really need to tighten up the gameplay, shooting mechanics and combat. I love the Division style visuals but with zombies. Surprised that Ubisoft didn’t do a separate zombie expansion or something. Granted, it probably wouldn’t fit in all that well but not everything has to fit all the time.
First Grounded review?
Nah, permadeath is one of the selling points of State of Decay. I hope it will be very cinematic to lose your characters.
They will probably have different modes, so people who want permadeath can have it, but people who don’t can play how they want too.

Scored the game an 8.5. I think Grounded’s rollout was the right move.
My prediction for Grounded average score is 80
