Remember when Halo 3 had over 1 million concurrent on it’s launch, and still managed to do 300k+ in 2008?
If it ends up being as good as Skyrim (93+ metacritic let’s say), and it’s optimization is good, i expect Starfield to be a Halo 3 case, being top 1-3 most played game during over a year.
I was just reading this and came here to post it. It’s a good interview. He says that Dishonored was originally going to be a ninja game until Arkane came up with the setting. With how you play Corvo with sneaking and assassinating guards it feels like a ninja game anyway lol.
I think we knew the ninja origin of Dishonored from the Noclip documentaries and various other interviews but it’s always awesome to hear Harvey talk about his history and Arkane’s philosophy.
I don’t think a lot of people realise that the director of Dishonored 2 is directing Redfall (he moved from Arkane Lyon to Arkane Austin).
Even though he’s directing, the rest of the team is still the Prey team, so I’m expecting more Prey and Mooncrash vibes than Dishonored. It’s cool how Lyon and Austin have such distinct styles while still being the same studio.
It was always going to be under a microscope because of Fallout 76 and many people lost trust in Bethesda, on top of that it is now an Xbox exclusive so that probably adds another layer to it all. They delayed it for a reason and that’ll be to polish it up and tighten things up.
The person who worked there and spoke about certain things about the game said the game doesn’t have any content issues and the game is absolutely packed, so that seems like it won’t be an issue which is probably one of the most important things. Graphics and performance will only get better from a delay, optimizations is very important and one of the last things they really go for so I’m sure all this extra time is going into that and not say trying to still create features and content, which if that was the case would be bad.
Starfield is only not going to be a phenomenal game for people who are invested in console warring, this includes people on the Xbox side. Despite all that it is going to bring to the table there will be some Xbox people complaining about the graphics or shooting mechanics and therefore declaring it “second tier”. It is what it is.
Saw someone said it looks like a 360 game >.> I thought it looked great just performance was hit or miss, but wasn’t worried too much and even less after being delayed.
Just give me my space base building and ship building and I will be set forever.
I’ll always be worried about a Bethesda launch in terms of strictly on how it feels and performance.
The whole “they’re only making it for one console so it shouldn’t be buggy or have bad performance” narrative never really held weight for me. I’ll believe it when I see it lol.
These people are…weird. During the first gameplay segment with the combat, my thoughts were: Who built this research facility? Why was it abandoned? Why are the Crimson Fleet using it as a base? Can’t wait to explore this! Ooh, lockpicking is still a thing! Wonder what we’ll find in here…
