Deathloop I understand as it is a bit unconventional, but Prey? Did you try it again with FPS boost and fast loading at least? That really makes a difference!
I really don’t think they want to get in the habit of delaying stuff every single time. They wouldn’t have said first half if they weren’t confident. They would have just said 2023 like they did with Halo. Even if Starfield releases June 30th, that wouldn’t count as another delay and I think they’ll hit the window.
I hope so but it’s game development in post 2020, I can’t in good faith put much trust in dates anymore. Though with that said I wouldn’t rule it out they’ll nail it.
I don’t think any of the games are in trouble or anything but the reactions for example for Starfield at the show this year could’ve made them go back want to polish things that they didn’t expect people to be worried about and such.
Hey look if I’m wrong that is a good thing. Starfield is my most hype game for next year I can’t wait no matter when it comes out it’ll probably be my most played game in 2023 by far.
I hear you. I personally think Starfield could still have released on 11.11.22 (and would have pre-acquisition) but Xbox just wanted to make sure it was as good as possible, hence the delay. We’ll find out soon enough either way.
If any game slips to second half, I think it’ll be Diablo, and even then only to July or August or something.
I can’t be really sure of this but to me the gameplay they showed didn’t look like a polished up promotional vertical slice but rather a piece of the game as it currently is in-engine when they captured it, and that is actually an optimistic indication of how better it would be with a year of optimization and polish, which is something both Bethesda and MS would want to really nail because a game like that would a game that both will be judged on. “Is Bethesda committed to quality and is MS helping them positively?” and stuff like that.
If there’s nothing big for half 2, I would rather hope of delaying Ghostwire’s xbox version to it. Too many games are stacked for the first half, which could easily made Ghostwire forgettable.
I agree. It looked about the same as Fallout 4’s reveal in terms of polish (equivalent for the times, at least) which is why I think pre-acquisition it would have hit 11.11.22 come hell or high water. But Bethesda has the luxury of time and resources now so they can take the extra time to add even more polish than usual and react to some feedback from E3.
Literally zero chance they do that. There’s no reason to artificially delay if it’s ready to go.
I want that to happen but not as an artificial delay, I’d like for Ghostwire on Xbox to be more than just a port but a Definitive Edition or Director’s Cut with more work put into it. It seems from the reviews that the game could really be much better realized with something like that, and I’m fine with waiting more for that.
By the time the exclusive deal is up in March the Xbox version that will release then will be the 'definitive" edition with various improvements just like the current version of Deathloop. They aren’t pushing that game back lol.
Y’all got to relax, it’s fine if Xbox has a light second half of 2023 if the games aren’t ready yet.
But they play different. Dishonored is stealth but there’s also melee combat and shooting. Prey for example is some shooting/melee but very slow from what I have seen and I don’t like transporting into cups and other stuff. That is simply of no interest to me whatsoever.
Prey doesn’t appeal to me combat/gameplay wise and not a fan of going into cups or boxes or whatever that stuff was. Just doesn’t appeal to me. I’m obviously very picky and only play games that appeal to me. I rarely will ever try a game that doesn’t appeal to me. It’s simply how I am. Plus, im not someone who wants or needs to play every game or almost every game. I usually stay with 5, 10 or 20 games a year depending on how stacked the year is. Even games that im 50/50 on can easily go bye bye. lol
It’s funny how 2023 could be 2021 but flipped, I guess it would be super interesting for Microsoft to collect data on that.
Oh I’m taking the possibility into full account for sure. I would hate it and have rather had they had just said 2023 then, not specifically first half.
But last year during E3 and about two times more it seemed that 11-11-22 was a lock too. Todd seemed extremely confident as recent as late last year. It just shows that even something that seemed written in ink can still change.
It definitely doesn’t sound too crazy that it could have been released if they had not been at MS. After all Todd right before E3 this year did say they were putting the final touches on the game. It sounds like everything is pretty much finished (maybe except for flying as per the ex dev) and that they are polishing the shit out of it now, assuming fixing framerate, shooting mechanics fall under polishing too.
The ex dev also said they had an overabundance of content, so they are probably trying to find out what should stay and what can go (hopefully for future expansions) but also that they were trying to find the fun or something. I don’t remember the exact words anymore.
Worst case scenario it does get pushed to holiday next year, which would fucking suck, can’t deny that but we still will have tons to play.
Anyhow, hopefully we see footage of Starfield and Redfall at the TGAs along with a game we haven’t seen yet or haven’t seen in a while (Fable/Avowed/ New game). As far as I know the “12 month rule” doesn’t apply TGAs, I think.
What does this mean?
Sounds personal.
Yeah, I’m not sure what to make of this. I hope everything’s ok.
Pretty sure that’s nothing lol
Lol, PC hardware is leaving the consoles in the dust. The 4090 is 83TFlops
