Xbox Game Studios |OT9| How many games would a game studio make if a game studio could make games?

I so want to play FH5 HotWheels but i know there will be some punchcard that requires getting an achievement which won’t work if you already completed them all.

Also, damn that last Power Washer base is so expensive, $5K. Going to take a while more before I can aford it even though its unlocked for me. They need a rent to own or lease program for that…

I finished the first episode of As Dusk Falls and I’m loving it. Story is addicting and I feel implicated by the choices.

I think that this would have been a great game to market on TV alongside Game Pass, targeting the Netflix / non-gamer / casual audience.

Especially with the multiplayer focus (collective choice, override…), people being able to play with a controller or just their smartphone. Nintendo is insanely good at making these ads (and putting these everywhere) where you have people playing a casual game (Ring Fit, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Mario Strikers, etc) together on their couch.

Unfortunately as with other games, Xbox’s marketing is non-existent.

There are a lot of new achievements in FH5 for the Hot Wheels DLC and season 10 and most of them are rather easy to get. So just go for it.

Here’s a fun fact about As Dusk Falls that I just remembered about, if anyone was curious. The game was originally set to be published by SEGA, but the deal fell through for strategic reasons (they were still on good terms) back in 2019. So I assume they went to Xbox next to get their game published. I remember recognizing the studio from that when the game was first revealed.

It’s stupid. There’s also no improved global localization efforts, especially stupid for a story and dialogue driven game. It can’t go on like this. I don’t know when they’ll start addressing those things.

They seem to already be doing so, with omori for example. But they’re not at the level that they can and should be yet, which sucks for games that need a good marketing push to get the word out there.

At least start with the localization. It’s embarrassing that I played some indie games that had Arabic localization but Xbox’s games don’t. Arabic language support drove the biggest growth for Sony last gen according to Jim Ryan, and now they own the Middle East North Africa region market unchallenged.

Crah Team racing is multiplat anyway. Just make those character xbox exclusive. But that game needs a rebrand asap. and 60FPS patch. ITs embarrassing how that game only runs 30FPS on next gen.

Enjoying As Dusk Falls so far, at least the story and feeling like my choices matter but not sure how much I like the gameplay style as of now.

Without spoiling anything As Dusk Falls is much better written than most of the tell tale games and any of the quantic dream titles or LiS titles while not being nearly as fucking ridiculous.

MS needs to give these guys more budget for their next project or acquire them if they are up for it.

If it had the visual fidelity of Detroit, it would be Xbox’s Heavy Rain 100%

Their next game, or the game after, could be exactly that. Which is why Xbox needs to get them now.

The opposite of how Sony does it

Huh, never knew Halo was intended to be open world.

Only with actual good writing this time hopefully. Heavy Rain was a complete joke and Detroit was a game written by the same pretentious hack that clearly didn’t have any understanding the the subject matter he was tackling and the result was embarrassing to say the least. What’s really funny is some people point to these games as examples of "good storytelling ".
