Xbox Game Studios |OT9| How many games would a game studio make if a game studio could make games?

Will be hilarious if they introduce NFT ships, which might even happen :joy:

Yeah, same.

That’s why we gotta get some kind of gameplay this year, because of not…first half seems very doubtful.

Wait what game is this

Basically Bethesda has offered two modders of Fallout London a job. Ryan Johnson, Lead Techinal Advisor of Fallout London has been offered the job of Associate Level Designer at Bethesda. He’s taken it.

Dean Carter, project manager was offered to work at Bethesda UK, what his role would be wasn’t known but it would be about Fallout 76. But after a lot of ‘soul searching’ he’s decided to not take the offer and stay working on Fallout London.

I could see co-op in Elder Scolls 6. Maybe not for the main quests or side quests(unless the party leader chooses the dialogue choices) but I could see it happening where you could invite friends into your world and do specific modes together.

Having co-op is one sure way to gather even more anticipation for that game than it already would have. You can see so many posts for people asking for this for a long time, and no ESO and FO76 don’t really achieve that. People want the normal single-player TES/FO but with a co-op option. But BGS… well, they have been very adamant before that their main games are only gonna be single-player, and that’s why they had to build ZOS, and FO76 (spin-off) but those still didn’t give those people what they wanted: just the main single-player games but with co-op.

I’m OK with it if nothing at all changes for dialogue or anything else. I personally really don’t need it at all though. Todd called it SP games, both Starfield and TES VI but I guess things could change. But just based on him liking co-op I’m not about to start believing and “fearing” it will be in VI.

To be clear I don’t expect it to happen, because they are very clear about being single-player only (also, their engine ). Just saying that having it would actually be more hype for the game for so many people. Don’t have to change how they make the game, just add that option and communicate it, and watch as the game overtakes all their previous records in less time.

I certainly expect outrage among the hardcore community if TES will have co-op. Another case of “Microsoft pushing co-op for Game Pass”. And I don’t think that co-op was a selling point for Elden Ring too.

Personally - no matter how I love TES - if any TES mechanic is sacrificed in favor of co-op, I am out (granted we might not see TES until the next century). It is also one of the things I am cautious with Fable, not having very high or very low expectations, knowing that allegedly it might have hub or whatever multiplayer component.

I never liked co-op games because I have zero desire to rely on somebody else for a good gaming experience.

Hardcore community outrage is about as meaningless as pineapple on pizza.

Maybe because it’s not good or well implemented and many people actually hate that about it.

I’m not a fan either, mainly because I have no one to play with lmao, I have disdain for co-op only games. But if it can be an option, why tf not.

And plus, the hardcore community is gonna be fine with co-op/mp this generation because Sony is gonna be making a bunch of them :philwins: @TheBrightestSun

Well, so far the copium there (from my observation) is that those co-op/mp games won’t replace the high budget single player experiences  Also JRPGs are usually not co-op :joy:

I think most of the people don’t care about co-op in Elden Ring at all

The problem is that quite often the game designed around co-op is just not fun playing solo. One thing is Halo where it is not designed for co-op per se, so co-op there amounts to nothing - Lemonius does not say for example “This is getting out of hand! Now, there are two of them!” :joy:

Yeas I understand that, I’m not thinking of making the game a co-op game that can be played alone, just the single player game with a co-op option. Many games already do this without altering the experience and it makes everyone happy.

Because it’s really unnecessarily complicated and limited. If it it was an option from the menu, you can join with your friends anytime and go through the whole map with no limitations, it would’ve been a much bigger attraction to the game.

Yeah I wouldnt really mind a coop that was essentially your usual elder scrolls experience but you could have a coop partner that would function pretty much just how an ai companion would, comes with you on missions/exploration but has no impact on actual story or dialogue

It’s not something id use but as long as it would have zero impact on the traditional single player experience then I couldnt care less

If it’s something that impacts mission/world design then nah, no thanks, I want my traditional ES experience

By the way, when was it that Todd said he liked co-op? Because I’ve seen most of his interviews lately and I don’t really recall him ever really talking about co-op.

I do recall him talking about the next two games as SP games, as did he to Keighley after E3 when the two games were announced for the first time. For all we know he said this not even in reference to TES at all.
