Xbox Game Studios |OT9| How many games would a game studio make if a game studio could make games?

Exclusives mean far less than being on Game Pass. If they get a big game or two on the service this fall they’ll be just fine. (I mean they are already, anyways).

You can say Crackdown should stay dead but the point is they gave it another chance already. My example would be towards projects like Kameo, Banjo, Lost Odyssey, etc. All of these franchise could blossom being introduced to new audiences with updated graphics and gameplay.

On a side note; I have no idea why people like Banjo so much. The only banjo that slightly intrigued me was Nuts and Bolts and everyone else hated that one.

I get the impression most media and YouTube influencers don’t even like video games very much.

After playing valorant over the past week it made me realize how ahead of its time Shadowrun(fps) was. If Microsoft wants a live service game i think thats a game that can really shine as a ftp. The core gameplay is already amazing just update graphics and have a studio creating maps and skins for it. I would love for this game to get the remake treatment

I legit feel this sentiment is an issue, I would think the reason people “clamor” for PS type games is because most older gamers value characters/character development, story, lore, and sure some of us just like third person games more.

I don’t think media perception and validation plays much of a part in why Xbox fans want more of that style. It’s great Matt Booty said he wanted to create more worlds and marvel like universes but a lot of their popular franchises have been this ‘create your own world/adventure’ thing and that (IMO) doesn’t often create that sense of connection a character driven story delivers

Can they even make LO without miswalker?

Id love a remake personally or remaster with speed mode

A full on sequel is unlikely.

Xbox games have all that, and some of them are even third person!

Can never have enough of a good thing.

I think that game would do much better if it was released today. I think that would be a good candidate to remaster and somewhat modernize controls and whatnot. I think there is a lot of potential in shadowrun IP.

The n64 platformers were masterpieces for their time imo. The first banjo was my first 3d platformer and 3d game i ever played. One of my all time favs. Xbox has little to 0 platformers. It needs at least 1 exclusive 3d platformer this gen.

Banjo isnt really an xbox franchise by popularity most of fame comes from nintendo. But MS own the IP and theres huge potential there.

Rest assured Pentiment will at least have good concept art and visual design.

The problem stems from them believing that they should comment and have an opinion on everything and you know what? it’s not a bad thing to admit that you are not knowledgeable enough about a genre or a specific game, it’s totally OK to say that you don’t know shit about something…actually it’s much better and way more honest and sincere to say this instead of looking like an uninformed, big know-it-all that throws hot takes left and right.

I don’t think it is a problem - as we do the same all the time - but more due to them having a social media “weight” where their words are taken much more seriously than random forum dweller’s :joy: But that’s the part of the responsibilty of the media perso.

I don’t think that we all do it all the time (thank god for that) though it is a big problem in gaming circles. But it’s funny that you are saying that it’s not a problem and then you proceed to explain why it’s actually a problem. :phil_lmao:

I agree. But i fear with this very reasonable approach you don’t become a big influencer.

Yeah sadly…though this can be mitigated by having a crew with diversity in terms of knowledge/tastes.

Seeing uninformed influencers throwing hot takes left and right is why I am not big on podcasts to be honest. I really appreciate for example our own Jon here when he is admitting that he doesn’t know enough (because he is not a fan and that’s totally OK) on horror to comment on things or when Nick says he doesn’t care about Starfield or RPG’s in general, I think that is way more wise than trying to be a know-it-all when in reality you don’t know shit.
