For some reason only Starfield keeps getting mentioned of having a high chance of slipping into November 2023, and Redfall isn’t ever mentioned. Nothing is set in stone for either game. I tend to think towards worst case scenarios too, but when it comes to this I’m over it.
I hope they figure out the flying soon and that optimisation and polishing can start too. It’s not been since Oblivion that they delayed a game and that also was just one delay too. I want to remain a little hopeful that it will stay at one.
i think it could be like that for call of duty but anything new comming from all those studios like a new crash/spyro hexen/ diablo 5 etc would be exclusive. They wouldn’t spend 70 billion for a gamepass deal
Mostly but I believe there will be exclusives once they hopefully decouple a some of the studios from CoD. Blizzard also has new franchises, those don’t have to be on PS5, Blizzard isn’t even that crazy about console releases anyway.
I also don’t think they’ll allow Activision to give Sony games for PS+ for example
the only customers they are misleading are 3 people on XboxEra because nobody gives a damn about Redfall as of right now, people don’t even know of Redfalls existence.
Redfall delay is nowhere in the same league of Starfield delay. Not even close.
What?
Because let’s be real - more people (around 80-85%, even bigger chunk probably) care about Starfield than Redfall. Even if Redfall is delayed till 2023, nobody would bat an eye there. But Starfield is another thing altogether.
I’m going to do my best to start ignoring the silly 11/23 Starfield takes. People have a feeling and are coming up with every possible reason to try and support it.
Tossing that out there also just drags the conversation into a tired path as well.
but it makes sense if you consider that next year is supposedly the year that Xbox Game Studios is going to include several first party games like Contraband, Fable, Avowed, Perfect Dark etc.
Just look at this list I got from Mattys newest video
The entire campaign is set within a forest and forerunner structures so they just didn’t have enough assets they could re-use for the multiplayer.
IF there’s one studio that should utilize the delay to squash as many bugs as they possibly can its Bethesda Game Studios. we don’t want to see another Cyberpunk situation happening.
I still stick to my opinion that even COD mainline will go exclusive. Warzone 2 will stay everywhere of course. The next two COD probably too but at this point it is hard to say what’s happening with COD considering that Sony did not show COD in their marketing partnerships during the conference.
The thing is all the nearest games will be multiplatform. Because that’s the type of games they are - Overwatch 2 (you can’t make exclusive), Diablo 4 (hard to say here, but it was announced for PS4 in the past so…), Warzone 2 (for obvious reasons), MW2 (though I don’t think the platforms were announced at all).
We have to wait and see basically what’s gonna be shown on various conferences and in various announcements.
Everwild literally seems like a game with no pressure to have a release window whatsoever. I might be wrong but it appears Rare is having the luxury that The Initiative’s original studio vision wanted. Rare can comfortably keep updating SoT with good returns while taking their sweet ass time with Everwild
I like Matty but if he seriously still believes all those games are for next year I don’t know what to tell him. Avowed? Maybe, end of 2023 I can see, let’s first actually see it now though. Fable? Come on now. PD? Nuff said. Everwild? Lmao. Hellblade 2? We’re all guessing but I still think 2024, Contraband is possible. InXile? He can’t be for real, and so on.
The faster we forget about that internal release date list the better.
Yeah, I know. But I think we all know that’s never going to happen. Do we know if this list was with covid in mind? I really just don’t want and won’t set myself up for disappointments.
