Wong, that’s Overwatch. And also my argument wasn’t GOTY, it was high ratings.

I’m not directly comparing games, I’m saying being first person won’t stop them from scoring high as there’s plenty of highly rated similar genre games in first person.

Reviewers are in a generous mood this generation. It’s not out of reach.

I actually don’t mind Tango Gameworks working on smaller games because then it allows the developers to be more creative and try out new things and ideas that they most likely wouldn’t with a AAA game. Also I’m sure the Evil Within 3 will happen at some point as well.

You bring good points. Hey I’m all for it. I really like seeing my character in games, but it’s not necessary in every game. Far Cry or Halo for example would just feel weird to have in third person.

I agree about what you said that if a game isn’t third person like a PD or Indiana Jones it will be hard to get invested. But on the other hand that’s also what cutscenes are for. For Halo it jas worked great, we all love Chief. And in a BGS game it has the benefit of being both first and third person and also has conversations where you’ll see your character.

Xbox.com has first person shooter listed as Genre

I think Perfect Dark will be mostly first person but third person in cover/stealth

Perfect Dark will be first person Fable will be third person

Why do y’all constantly love to discuss the same topics over and over again.

I see no point in Perfect Dark going third person. It will become another Control or Hitman then. But Deus Ex + Mirror’s Edge would be cooler.

Cursed in gaming discourse loop

No. It will get compared to Elden Ring because why not.

come on, beeing concerned about camera perspective is an all time Xboxera classic

Indiana Jones should be 100% third person

Yup alongside the genre debate, the E3 debate and the almost comical fear of Sony moneyhatting everything.

Sad but true. Uncharted 4 was boring as fuck, is overrated with horrible pacing issues, dragged on way too long and felt like I was watching a soap opera drama as opposed to playing an action adventure game. UGH.

Not many studios make survival horror games. Outside of RE, if it wasn’t for Callisto Protocol, Dead Space Remake and Remedy going this way with Alan Wake 2, there would be none.

Sales impact what a studio does, easily. If your game is a massive success, why would you do something else? If it bombs, why would you continue it?

What? LMFAO. Overall game of the year in 2016 was Uncharted 4. Not Overwatch. Or are you going based on The Game Awards which would be funny since the majority here were bashing it a few months ago.

My argument was Fable and Indiana Jones. Not Skyrim. But we’ll see what happens.

Third person isn’t necessary for every game. Depends on the game. For Perfect Dark, if you’re trying to resurrect what is essentially a dead character, far greater chance in third person than first person because you’ll be able to get more attached and invested into the character.

I agree with Halo but Far Cry 6 was in third person when in the HUB areas. It has stealth in it and if melee combat was better to where you could actually use both instead of just shooting, third person could work but Far Cry needs to be completely rebooted anyway so it’s a bad example.

I like Master Chief and was invested into him with Infinite but at the same time, it wasn’t from playing the game, it was from the cut scenes and obviously, knowing the history of the character.

I played 120+ hours of Dying Light 2 and I love the game mainly because of it’s now in my opinion standard for first person melee combat but outside of my character’s name (Aiden) and the voice actor, I have no attachment or investment whatsoever. Character could die in a DLC and I wouldn’t even care.

Okay but let’s be honest, Xbox.com (just like PlayStation.com) make mistakes like all the time. I like going against the grain so im going with third person in a shocking twist when the gameplay trailer eventually gets revealed. Hehehe.

Because im bored. Just waiting for the Future Games Show tonight.

This is true. But for me, it’s simply personal preference.

why isnt the horse double jumping ? 3/10 :phil_unsure:

Suddenly any exploration aspect in other games is gonna be “like Elden Ring”

Haha, it was an entry that was added immediately after TGA showing. But I don’t blame you for keeping the faith alive.

I don’t really care about if a game is in first or third person. All I care about is if the game is fun and if It is done well.
