I hear you, but I see that complaint often on social media. However, I feel they need a mode similar to Warzone in Halo 5 that had experimental weapons people can play with.

Monster Hunter is not an Jrpg. I would put it in their own genre, and if not it’s closer to an action RPG.

Idk if you search for JRPGs on any of the systems Monster Hunter is one of the first listings. This means the ecosystems all class it as a jrpg.

Yeah, because it’s from Japan so lazy folks called it an JRPG. I’m not going deeper into the stuff, but it is closer to a Diablo than to a Final Fantasy.

My impression too. I’ve only played a little of it and it’s not a JRPG, I would say it didn’t have much RPG to it at all? More its own thing.
Also, JRPG’s can be made in Zimbabwe and still be a JRPG. Just like a RPG can be made in Tokyo.

Monster Hunter is actually a good niche subgenre to target with no real competitors (that I know of) that exist. Hope something really good comes out of this. I know Jez will would like it lol
