I wouldn’t give it too much thought, as they say they don’t know for sure. Why bother even saying it then? Must be to bump up their show when people tweet it out.
indeed lol
If there’s no update whatsoever between now and say… April, I’m gonna start worrying. If at E3 a no show, I think it’ll be clear what is what. Of course at E3 it could just as well be shown and a concrete release date which could be after summer.
We’ll see. No point for me in worrying now, it won’t exactly help it being released sooner.
What a week for Xbox, with the big Stalker delay and the rumours of Redfall delay, P6 exclusivity and Sony’s incoming showcase (sounds dumb but it kinda affects)
It’s mostly rumours of course, but none of these would surprise me even a bit.
If true, I hope next time studios just don’t announce anything unless they are 99,9% sure. It not being usual for this studio to announce a release date a year before launch I was hoping this was for good reason. Summer sounded like a perfect release window to me before the big new RPG by BGS.
Well, we’ll see.
Honestly in this case i can’t blame Arkane for this, even MS’s announcement on E3, if this is true, i think we’re going to see a good amount of games being delayed just like last year, just remember that if Sony’s big games for 2022 aren’t getting delayed (Horizon and GT at least) is simply because 1 year ago these were 2021 titles.
What worries me a bit more is, i remember Phil saying in an interview that their job was not to force their acquisitions to create the games MS wants, but to accelerate the games these acquisitions wanted to do, and i am not seeing this.
With T10 taking at least 5 years for next FM (i see many people listing it as 2022, i wouldn’t be so sure tho) , Rare taking simply forever it seems, 343i also was a mess with Halo Infinite, now the rumours that we could not even see Avowed this year? State of Decay also looks like 2024 at the earliest, The coalition and Compulsion still missing 3-4 years after their last game etc.
Maybe they will surprise us and the release date for the next MS 1st party games (not counting bethesda ones here) is closer than we think, but not sure… it really doesn’t help that they aren’t showing anything, all we’ve seen for the future is Hellblade 2, imo it’s such a bad strategy to create hype but…
WTF I hope this isn’t true. so what xbox wont have anything till 11/11/22 and 12/8/22 both big games in the last month again? and who knows if starfield makes it. This is why they need to still get third party deals. WTF and I get it covid and dont release a game till its ready but come on
Y’all need to relax
this was already posted…
I do get what you’re saying.
I too was/am expecting this year to be where we see what these studios have been working on, something tangible so that we see for the first time exactly what we’re looking forward to so much.
I had accepted, how can you not, that 2020 E3 wasn’t going to be amazing in terms of new stuff, well stuff that actually would be shown too. Insiders said that they showed what they could show, just too early for anything else. And the same went for 2021, although in hindsight I had expected some actual in-game stuff but alas.
Grubb then said 2022 was the E3 to look forward to, to really see some stuff. I see no reason to not expect a great E3 where it isn’t only Starfield as the new game being properly shown. But those rumors about certain games not being shown this year… yeah that is damaging my excitement a bit.
Don’t think we need to worry about whether E3 2022 will be good or not. It will be good.
Then…
I believe that the FM delay may be due to the graphics engine update, and that the game will be building based on the Game Pass model.
lol some folks on here are so funny
Im pretty sure it won’t happen but a potential Redfall delay is nightmare fuel.
if avowed wont be shown this year then there is something wrong with the development , i dont see any other explination
Things looking like the height of the pandemic here right now so I’m with anything can happen at this point.
lol some of you are delusional. forgetting the fact that some of these games wouldn’t be made without MS support, all of the studios purchased have greatly increased their staff (compulsion pretty much doubled their staff) to put out games more quickly.
just because it isn’t moving quickly enough for you ( ) doesn’t mean development isn’t being accelerated.
