When asked about releasing games sooner, Todd Howard replied “we’re hiring”.
They helped Maryland make 76 and are now the primary devs making new content for the game.
Didn’t they just make a new studio for something? I think they’ll be a new team within Bethesda who works on Fallout with the guidance of the main people behind the IP
No they’re all just support studios.
Shame.
I get the need for support studios (tried not to melt down when Sony bought thiers) but if they have the tools and the talent, let them experiment with a short game under a new IP or old IP or something.
If they don’t make it, back to support they go.
It’s not like they have to worry about it selling anymore.
We also did just have the ad for jobs at Bethesda at TGA lol maybe that’s a sign they’re building a new team.
Fallout Tactics II by inXile using Wasteland 3 engine would be dope though.
Im on the opposite end of the spectrum. I love Fallout, but I think it needs a break. Give it as much time in the incubator as possible so it can come back with some new innovative gameplay concepts. I enjoyed Fallout 4, but if you weren’t into crafting/settlement building, as I wasnt, there wasnt a whole lot new. Still a great game though.
I still havent given Fallout 76 a fair shake yet though.
I’m just saying, owning the Fallout IP and THREE studios heavily associated with it and the most capable of making it, and have it sit still for a decade or more, would be nonsensical
It’s funny how we always say Xbox has 23 studios but if we counted support studios it’s more like 30+
I wonder if Alpha Dog stays mobile or graduates to AA status with a non-mobile game title.
Cloud Gaming probably
Oooooh good call.
I forget Alpha Dog and Roundhouse exists sometimes because I have no idea what they’re making
Silent Hill
Roundhouse is former Prey 2 developers HumanHead that also made Rune II before being shuttered by Bethesda then reformed under a new name right?
This is a lie Prog.
Yes
Pretty sure I have vague memories reading about this scenario.
I think Fallout has gotten its fair share run of games this past decade. Think TES fans need some content for now.
