I think the game simply got announced much earlier than it should have (because Xbox had nothing at the time) so now everything just looks like mismanagement.

The game was rebooted so there was something wrong, I don’t really care anyway since Xbox has ton of new studios and games coming and we don’t need to rely on Everwild to be the saving grace.

Phil Spencer and Rare are never going to come out and say that Everwild is fucked . They aren’t Square Enix .

Idk why people put so much value into these types of comments from leadership. Said it in that Everwild thread like a month or two ago that Matt Booty wasnt gonna come out and publicly admit the game was rebooted cause if had zero direction.

I guess what you’re trying to say is the lack of a clear vision of what the game should be, Halo Infinite had this in the beginning, Everwild is still stuck in this.

Yep. Although clearly there were some ideas because they started work on modelling characters for the creatures and humans from the trailer, also the environment that they showed off. To me it looks like the two trailers were based on an idea, but who knows what really happened.

Best would be to just let it stay in the dark until they are very clear themselves on what it will be and then re-reveal it with a new trailer, this time with actual gameplay. But it’s going to be several years until then I’m sure.

I mean I dont think it did but by the time the second trailer rolled around a year had passed and they couldn’t tell you what the game was it was a red flag to me. Every interview you could tell they had no idea what the point of it was.

yeah two cgi trailers in span of 8 months was enough to tell me they changed visions.

We had several people saying this throughout the year but they got scolded for it because apparently the studio had never said this. But now it seems we actually are at that? Crazy. But they went back to the drawing board, right? So as of this moment they haven’t decided yet what it’s going to be?

This is the kind of stuff we need as little of as possible with how Xbox is doing nowadays. Really never should have been shown off at all. Thank fuck Xbox has so many new studios now putting in work. Studios they can truly depend on.

This is my thought as well. There was no reason to announce Everwild at X018. If they didn’t announce it, no one would even know any of the issues that Rare may be having with the game since it wouldn’t exist externally.

Is it really a defense brigade when people simply state that “we don’t know how accurate any report is, ever” on this type of stuff? I think it’s more just trying to not overreact to inside reporting.

Outriders being in the top 10 on Steam doesn’t surprise me at all. It had a good launch plus they did release the New Horizon update in November which fixed a lot of complaints and they announced the Worldslayer expansion for 2022 so that definitely got people including me to jump back into the game.

I ended up playing through it for a 4th time this year which is something I have never done. All I have left is a few of the Expeditions but also grinding for all the MODS so I can be 100% completely ready for the expansion.

Outriders is such a great looter shooter and my kind of game. Hyped for Worldslayer!!!
