For writing, gladly Xbox has some of the better writers in the industry: Tim Schafer and co, Obsidian, InXile
If I were Playground I’d take advice, because game writing isn’t just good writing on paper, it has to be thoughtful of the game and game design itself. And yes they did hire some good writers.
It’s very hard to balance it, I hope they manage to do it.
isn’t new studio though ? they hired new writers for the game.
Are you serious? The importance of writing and “story” in a racing game is 0.
Trying to compare or hope Fable is like TW3 is weird, they’re not even going for the same things and they shouldn’t turn Fable into something it’s not, just make a new IP if people want a Witcher clone, why bring back an old IP to revamp it to something completely different when you can just make a new IP.
Says who ? Sounds like the people who dismiss racing games from GOTY discussions because it’s just a “racing game”
I don’t even know what we’re calling writing in FH. The talk during expeditions and stuff?
Having a hard time trying to imagine a actual interesting and good story for something like FH as well, but they would at least try a little with the character conversations, they look pretty shit and…dead like, lol. Also cringe. Some like it, I don’t.
Several NFS games had stories, but were the stories actually any good at all?
I am sure Fable Dev team knows full well they’ll have to come with a good story, interesting characters looking detailed etc.
I think we settled on “Need for Grit” being the next Forza game. A Sad racing game.
The poor Honda Civic needs to find his lost son
What story you can make outside a Need for Speedn, aka a lame one? Remember the cars are the subject, not the people who drive them.
None
Sad racing game, lmaooo
I’m not asking for elite writing or something doom/gloom.
I just think they can 100% do better then that they’re doing right now.
Yeah i don’t expect those things to be on the level of what Itsuno did but it’s a good jump off point for something similar at least.
You should definitely try it ( Dragon’s Dogma) if you get the chance. Can’t recommend that game enough, everyone should play it. The combat is amazing also to this day has the best spellcasting effects i have ever seen in a game of its type! The actual rpg elements aren’t as robust as The Witcher’s ( something i hope they correct in the sequel that is supposedly being made) but when you go adventuring in DD it feels like an adventure! Haven’t even delved into the Pawn system.
One car. One sad racer. On a quest of redemption.
Forza Horizon 6: Need for Grit.
I wouldnt look at the writing in a racing game and make even the smallest inference to what the RPG’s writing will be like

Driver San Francisco story >>>>
Wasnt the a racing game trailer not that long ago that focused on the drama between the characters? What was that again lol
Fast n Furious
Look at all the manufactured (yes it’s fake) online drama in the Formula 1 circus. That shit is popular with the…less demanding crowd.
