How many “shit out of luck”-people could there really be out there though? They must be concerned for a very small % of people who doesn’t have access to either: Xbox console, Nintendo Switch, PC or a mobile phone/pad. Does those people even exist?
Talk about being ungrateful. MS put them on the map. Without Xbox backing them, their game would have flown under the radar. MS marketed them like crazy.
He’s also a hypocrite here for acting like he’s Robin Hood even though his decision is purely business as well. “hopefully make as many people as happy as possible…” greedy corporate talk for selling more copies thus making more money… CAUSE BUSINESS.
Shit like this is why I am glad MS is building up their first party. Dealing with third party studios is nice but its Unreliable. You either get burned because some other publisher snatches them up (Bioware , Double Helix and R.I.P Bizarre Creations) or you get burned over some other such fuckery and even if you own the IP, you have to hire another ther studio to build the sequel. If you build or buy the studio this isn’t an issue.
I love so called "smaller " games like Ori and I am glad that MS is supporting them, I am really happy that some of their first party devs are making smaller games in addition to the larger AAA affairs. Like Josh Sawyer’s next game. I do hope they snatch up some smaller studios similar to Moon and MDHR and maybe build one or two.
I get wanting everyone to be able to play your game but I feel like he’s throwing unnecessary shade. Hope the best for the company because they’re extremely talented but sometimes the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
If he wanted to be multi platform he shouldn’t have signed with a platform holder
Ding Ding Ding
I just want to know who these people without an Xbox, PC, Switch or mobile phone/pad are. I don’t think I’ve ever met one.
FWIW, I’m not trying to play shit on my mobile phone/pad lol
If xbox somehow acquired nordisk as a whole the metroid dread studio could continue ori. Mercury steam
And no TV (as xCloud will likely be coming to TV’s in the near-to-mid future). Like, who amongst his target audience who have a PS5 or Nintendo Switch, but no Xbox, also don’t have a TV, but have the money to purchase the game rather than access it in a low-cost subscription. It may not be zero, but I bet it’s very very close.
Yeah, I’m getting “but muh plAyStAtiOn” -vibes here lol.
Let’s be real here, most of what he says is pure speculation and pretty much the rest is just parroting back something another journalist or insider already said.
I wonder if that 3rd party exclusive rumor is gonna come true
yea if she is right which shes been right up to this point maybe the game awards is the reveal?
Honestly, Microsoft allowed both games on Switch and basically said “Our devs wanted us to do this, we allowed it, it was a one-time thing for XGS published games on other platforms”
Like I can’t imagine how much more Microsoft could have done unless Moon was seriously talking about the game being on PlayStation.
I wonder what game it could be if true though
no idea
facts, moon studios really soured on me for this, their still some of my fav devs, but i understand their wasn’t much Phil could do
