800x Zoom and still looks good ![]()
Solid year for the studios. Wish I had a PC that could run it, I have hope that they will bring it to Xbox. Just make it M&KB only. Opens the door to a lot of other games to come to Xbox.
Quick question: There is no extra thread for the Halo Campaign Reveeal from today?
Just been discussing it in the Halo thread
Yeah, dont see the need for a separate thread when we already have a Halo thread and the conversation is dominated by the trailer for obvious reasons.
This is what photogrammetry is, right?
The same tech that TES VI will use too, I wonder…will Starfield use this too?
What of all the Halo threads is the Halo thread to look for?
Almost all AAA games attempting some form of photorealism (or simply just fast asset creation) use Photogrammetry. You can make decent photogrammetric models simply using an iPhone Pro.
This is stupid. Only issue with Timdog is he responds to console warriors too much, I don’t need to see that shit on my feed. Other than that, he’s great.
Had to unfollow because of that because I found myself clicking on their profiles then going down that stupid rabbit hole
It’s cool how varied everybody is here. So many different ages, countries, ethnicities. I love it. I’m only 22!
Get off my lawn, you young whippersnapper! ![]()
But seriously, I am probably in the running for the oldest codger on here. Playing and talking about Xbox helps keep me young at heart.
Blinx profile pic ensures you stay young forever.
Age doesn’t matter - I am convinced Jon (Sik) is older than everyone here. LOL
PS - At least he has convinced me, by behaving like it.
Didn’t know that. I did know Dice used it for Battlefront and Battlefield I believe.
I mean we had Turn10 with Forza 7 really making a point out of those mountains and stuff because it was using that tech. And BGS using it for their games is quite promising, I don’t believe they’ve done that before.
yeah, DICE was one of the first to partner big with Quixel Megascans and use their photoscans in their game environments. But that photoscan library has gotten a lot more ubiquitous today, with not just more matured tech, but also Epic buying Megascans and making it completely free for Unreal users and halving the monthly cost for everyone else means more and more games have and shall be using that library extensively, especially if you’re a studio making a game with large outdoor environments.
Good news all around then:)
Cannot wait to see what this will mean for BGS titles, hopefully starting with Starfield.
Another cool hire for XGS this time at Undead Labs
