Control is not better than Quantum Break was in gameplay and certainly not better than Alan Wake in narrative.
I thought the Quantum Break tv show thing that had slight changes depending on playthroughs was kind of cool.

Also funny how Microsoft set up Xbox Pictures studios WAAAAYYYYYY back when to turn Xbox games into TV shows, everybody mocked them, and they eventually shut it down without producing anything.
Now Sony is doing the same with PlayStation Pictures, and everybody is geeking themselves about the God of War movie.

It was on PS, for many people Control was better only for this reason and we’ll discover surprising Alan Wake enthusiast after this remaster, lmao.

Good, not great, but yeah, it was dragged down by X1 stink and haters among wider industry (journos and fans). I always make the comparison with UC4 (game from the same year, extremely similar gameloop and genre, from acclaimed devs, etc…) and it’s unbelievable that QB is under 80, while the other is over 90, it speaks loudly about industry consensus.

I never got the complaints over QB combat when it came out. If you played it as a generic third person cover shooter of course it would me average but thats not what that game was.
People still praise Naught Dog lock-on target in their games, I mean, last tps from MS with this archaic mechanic is Crackdown 3…it’s always a matter of optics and who is funding the game. XD

Exactly Texas is a tinderbox of conflict and perfect for GTA. Antifa, MAGA, religion, anti-Vaxers. Also climate change disasters would provide some good weather events.

Never played Alan Wake so can’t comment on it. I bought Quantum Break day one and completed it. Great 8/10 game but wasn’t really a fan of the combat/gameplay overall. Story and characters were good but I did hate the ending boss fight.
Control was a great 8.5/10 game but the story and characters weren’t as good but the combat/gameplay was easily better for me compared to Quantum Break and since I favor combat/gameplay over everything else, it was the better game for me.
Both great but neither are as good as Max Payne. Never played Max Payne 2 though. I may give Alan Wake a chance but if it’s October, I will be playing Far Cry 6 so Alan Wake is out of luck for me.

GTA is always a parody of American politics and culture. If anything reality has come too close to the parody that the joke might be lost.
