Xbox Game Studios |OT5| DOOM posting not allowed. Except for posting about DOOM

Yeah, that’s ultimately true as well. I’m just not sure how much development is needed/goes into a typical FM due to their preexisting work. I mean, if FM7 was announced at E3 2016, it’d technically be early development then too and I think Turn10 took the extra 2 years to overhaul the engine which may make this more or less efficient.

as for platform thing so what will happen to car license when they run out ? the games always get delisted from store because of license.

Yes…perhaps this is how it can both be early in development last year, but still ready for relase this fall as a platform to build upon? I don’t know, it’s definitely possible.

They can renew the licenses or plan for it ahead of time. I don’t think Motorsport will be a platform for more than 6 years.

Game Pass literally needs a constant flow of games and Im supposed to believe studios will hold out till Holidays to drop games on a service.

Guess Netflix needs to hold back all its stuff for Holidays too and I gotta ring up Disney Plus about delaying Loki and all that.

Good point, I honestly have no idea.

true but i’m not talking about forcing their studios, i’m talking about offering tools ready for their studios as option off course

With game pass it makes no difference dropping a game in March than in November.

You market it the same way.

Yeah, I think having Id Tech and Creation now in-house will help. I think it’s too late for most games locked into an engine now (except Fable who decided to switch over to Forzatech) but these are both great options for the FPS and RPG studios. Compulsion could also use Arkane’s Blink Engine.

Was meant to be Holiday 2005 though if I recall. Had a delay

depends really some car companies sometime refuse renewal and lead to removal of the brand from the game but for the game i expect 4 or 3 years of support and the same can be said for halo i don’t think halo infinte will be 10 year project, 4 or 5 years later they surprise with halo infinte 2 or whatever name they will decide on

Yeah but they didn’t hold the game until Holiday 2006. They’ll release the game when it’s ready, it makes no sense to hold it.

Also Im sure one of the actual XGS games has to be shooting for Q4 2022.

Im thinking Starfield Q2 and Avowed Q4.

You are largely correct. However, having a big title for the holidays to bundle with consoles on Black Friday helps. So, it makes sense to have something for the holidays, especially since that’s when the most money is spent and they can also use it for Game Pass (i.e. Get a year for your kid/SO/self/etc. so they can play the new Halo day one).

That said, what the need is A big holiday release. Maybe two. What they don’t need is 6 of their 7 games all over September to December.

Then FH5 does sound more likely. We don’t know for sure, but it sounds like PG has worked on FH5 longer than Turn10 on FM, since Phil said it was early in development. Well, soon we’ll know!

Never have I heard of any company holding a finished game intentionally.

Nah, we’ll get the/one of Forza that doesn’t launch this year.

You need something else go compliment any Forza tbh at least to me (could be my not caring for racers side).

Sure Im sure XGS/XGP will have something.

Sponger says Avowed is shooting for Holiday, but it may not make it. That said, next year has Typhoon and Omen theoretically plus whatever else may hit/be announced so one of them can be saved for the holiday as well if they are close enough (i.e. bump a September release to November).
