Doesn’t Bethesda have like 3 or 4 branches now and they’ve been growing? Because if that is the case they could be building up their own studios to take on their IPs. It might start smaller only doing 2 at a time like starfield and ES and when one finishes move on to the next. Fallout.
And maybe one they get rolling each branch runs one of the IPs and we end on a faster cycle or a new IP works in.
I hear you if the next mass effect is up for console exclusivity then Microsoft needs to be in on that. I do somewhat see it as a Microsoft franchise since it launched there and first one was MS exclusive for awhile.
Fallout is only bigger because of Fallout 76 and them adding content to the game where as TES is a decade old since the last new main line game. Once TES 6 releases, it will be as if Fallout didn’t even exist in comparison.
There is TESO that is supported by ZeniMax Online since 2014 (with more resources compared to FO76).
TES and Fallout fanbases are very different. Some only play TES, some only play Fallout.
That’s why having 7 RPGs in development doesn’t mean there isn’t need for a new Fallout game. A lot of people only play few games and have favorite franchises rather than a favorite genre and won’t play all these RPGs.
I meant just the main TES series. But isn’t TESO far bigger than any Fallout game? I don’t see Fallout returning for years because Bethesda will be more focused on Starfield and TES 6. Once those are released, then they will move on to Fallout 5 in my opinion.
There is no relatively effective Game Pass strategy without the xbox console lol. If it wasnt for the xbox console nobody would care about game pass even with xcloud offerings because the PC side is still poor. For all the good game pass “is” there are still a vast majority of people that arent subbed and thats the reality.
Id like to see the numbers of people subbed to game pass that dont have an Xbox.
TESO (+18M players in total since 2014) is bigger than FO76 but that’s not surprising as it’s an older game, with more resources (+400 people working at ZeniMax Online overall I believe + TESO has big paid expansions while FO76 has free updates smaller in size) and FO76 suffered from its disastrous launch (even though it recovered since then).
Fallout wouldn’t be ready that much quicker no, but The Elder Scrolls and Starfield sequels would. That trifecta of games deserves less than 10 years between sequels…
I do agree that console is the gateway for gamepass because I don’t feel PC numbers are that high due to competition. For example you can sub to something like humble monthly which usually gives you games that are on gamepass and you get to keep those games. Plus there are other services like EA play premier (or whatever its called). Also numbers might get even further apart with how hard it is to get a graphics card and can see some PC gamers going to consoles because of that
