Ah, so that’s probably why you couldn’t buy the Steeltown expansion separately yet. Awesome, I’ll just buy this pack as soon as I can. If I remember correctly, Fargo said there’d be one more DLC after Steeltown
I think the internet is not even ready for a Halo Infinite beta this summer. Imagine if it’s PC and Xbox…Unless it’s a closed beta and even then, it will still be incredible. Numbers will be huge. I can’t wait.
Did I say something that their team size is not fine?
I know it very well new inXile’s IP is a long way from us. You don’t have to tell me that. I’m not such a newbie into that things.
Also, people are important too. Especially when they’re doing much bigger project, with first-person perspective which needs such a good game design, and with project with big ambitions.
Anyone feel like XGS should at neon giant to their ranks, they gonna be way cheap and can be a small studio doing high quality AA games every two years, the Ascent just looks so good. 12 people made it.
If Sony and Nintendo have dedicated State of Play Directs to specific games + Microsoft has a lot of big games to launch in the future I wouldn’t mind to see some equivalent from Xbox.
I wouldn’t even mind if they would call it as Inside Xbox again but completely refreshed. From 10+ minutes to half-hour stream with brief talk from dev team to describe some elements and that’s it.
Psychonauts 2, Fable, Avowed, Perfect Dark, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, State of Decay 3 and any other future titles no matter of their size (from AAA to smaller) deserve better visibility and treatment as part of that gameplay walkthroughs and developer updates. Not only as part of annual presence at E3 with maybe additional trailer at gamescom, The Game Awards or eventual next X0 events.
Some Bethesda games could be part of that as well, but they also have QuakeCon which is also a good place for new updates from these games. It’s annual, but it could also work as some kind of Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase extension just for Bethesda titles. Probably they’ll do this with Starfield. Some trailer in June with deep-dive later in August.
I mean E3 is great but with so crazy many games in development now it’s too much for just one show. It’s not a good thing to wait for E3 every year and after that…nothing. Because of how quiet it is every year people start to long for news and that’s where insiders with leaks come in, but they wouldn’t be needed as much if Xbox did just a little bit more to show their games off.
Right now it’s probably not possible yet, too much is still somewhat early days, but once things are really going well for XGS there really should be a big change in that area.
Xbox has too many games that need visibility and presentation to only showcase them one or two times a year in events. Xbox adopting a State of Play/Direct equivalent is necessary.
What else I could add… Microsoft should come back with their gamescom briefings like they did in 2014 and 2015.
Just to compare with first-party only games. Xbox E3 2015 Briefing:
Halo 5: Guardians
ReCore – new IP announcement (it deserves for sequel… )
Forza Motorsport 6 – new game announcement
Rise of the Tomb Raider (not first-party, but supported, co-developed, co-funded via Microsoft’s GGPD team, like they’re doing now for CrossfireX with Smilegate Entertainment)
Rare Replay – new announcement
Sea of Thieves – new IP announcement
Fable Legends ()
Gears of War 4 – new game announcement
Xbox gamescom 2015 Briefing:
Quantum Break
Crackdown 3
Scalebound ()
Killer Instinct
Minecraft
Cobalt (developed by Oxeye Game Studio, co-published by Microsoft Studios and Mojang)
Halo 5: Guardians
Forza Motorsport 6
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Halo Wars 2 – new game announcement
That was such a good year…
Even better! With so many games in development I wouldn’t even mind if they would do some presence at Paris Games Week as well in the future with some updates, at least one game announcement and as part of better + wider treatment of European marketplace.
Not necessarily you should put xbox in the name of the showcase tho. If the point it’s to have a show simmilarly of nintendo direct and state of play, maybe Microsoft instead can use one of the game universe as an inspiration for the show.
E.g call it Vault 21 or Vault 21 direct and take that retro fallout-ish aesthetic, it’s not like xbox it’s not using retro stuff for their game pass adds… Right?
I have a feeling in the future things like that will start to happen, there’s kinda no way around it. Unless they make their E3 shows double the duration, lol.
I’m hoping we’ll actually see a start of this with Halo Infinite sometime after E3.
