Xbox Game Studios |OT4| This is for Studio talk. Studios. It's the Studios OT. Studio talk here (Part 1)

It could be argued that it requires significant resources for a feature (presumably) not in heavy use due to the prevalence of online gaming in 2021.

True.

It could also be argued that it’s a bit hasty to cut a feature which has proven to be very popular, based on an assumption. As noted, a lot of Halo fans (including me) weren’t happy when split-screen was cut from Guardians. I assumed that was why 343 made sure to tell us it was back.

I’d need to see numbers though. Is there any data to suggest that split-screen is not in use these days? Obviously my anecdote wasn’t much on it’s own. If it’s just me & my boy playing split-screen, then I’d understand it getting cut!

I don’t have the data, I am sure MS does though. Would be curious how it looks. Either way, its in :stuck_out_tongue:

Miles confirming on the podcast that the spin off game Jez teased is not Gears or Halo related :chief_think:

I’ve been wondering, what kind of (new) enemies may we get in Halo Infinite? I didn’t play the Wars games, but those had new kind of baddies, right?

Hopefully we get some confirmation of a Flood return…

Yes, their return would be great actually!

I agree with what they said, probably a return of an ip in a way that hasn’t been used before. Someone on the forum brought up doing a Conker game in the style of southpark or paper Mario that I thought was really cool. Maybe something like that.

I must have missed this, spin off? When did he mention that?

Forza management sim LET’S GOOOO!

They have a pretty extensively expanded vehicle roster over what the mainline games use. The infantry and weapons are about what you’d expect. But they needed more vehicles for balancing and filling traditional RTS vehicle roles.

The Kodiak and Blisterback are really cool. And lots of vehicles could be used to add flavour to engagements even if they aren’t played usable.

If The Banished are going to stand as a faction on their own they’ll almost certainly have to press a few into service.

on the Xbox Two podcast he said of the 4 game he knows about 3 are new IP’s and one is a spin off of an existing franchise.

Hmmm, interesting. So we now know that all games are (apparently) all MP, one is shared world, another is fantasy with dragons, and another one is a spin off of an existing franchise. Although that could still apply to the shared world one.

One is Typhoon, one is Dragon, one is a spin off.

I don’t keep up with these podcasts, I guess I just don’t have the patience for them, haha. The other day I saw a new one by Matty or ACG, always around the two hour mark, nah can’t do that. I got people to kill (in games) and other important matters. But I’m definitely grateful that people do check it out, always some good info from those.

Except for the Xbox Two podcast with Rand/Jez, all the other podcasts have time stamps in the video itself or the description so you can just skip to the segments you care about.

Yeah… keeping up with the podcasts on a weekly basis is like an 8+ hour commitment lol.

Banished are a Covenant-like enemy: same tech, but lead by a more clever brute leadership than Tartarus. XD

On Zeta Halo in the past there was the Primordial, the last of Predecessors (god like beings and the first race of galaxy) and first flood hivemind, the mortal enemy of Didact, who went mad because of it.

I’m sure that’s just what they know about and there are probably 3+ other big global publishing games. Look at the prior global publishing has last gen and then look at the Adirondack money and people they’ve thrown at global publishing. It’s very likely they’ve got a TON of big content they’re working on.
