Yeah, that’s what I got.
It was planned for release this year, it could still release this year, many expect it to release this year, but no one said that it will release this year (unlike Halo for example)

Briefly read that individual’s posts… extremely patronizing and seems to be claiming that believing “so-called insiders” such as Rand and Jez is unhealthy.
Sounds like Cult HQ allright.
At least we can put a track record to Jez and Grubb… anonymous character artist with 70 posts is not exactly the most believable source.
Sure, now I’m really comfortable in believing this out-of-nowhere-dude no one knows about.
Yeah, just read it.
That’s weird.
Even if it was released 2022, that doesn’t mean Microsoft doesn’t want it this year.
So he makes it like the sources has said something they didn’t say… just so he can prove that those reputable sources are wrong and discourage people from believing them.
Meanwhile, he tells people to book his post to establish himself as a reputable source, the same way every source he’s against has established their reputation
Let me be perfectly clear again, because it seems like despite my effort, I wasn’t clear enough (Twitter character limits make things difficult). I wrote these two tweets, and in particular the second one, for very intentional reasons.
Starfield, Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, Age of Empires IV are all coming. And more, of course. These 4 are within close release range (let’s say 2021 & 2022), unlike games like Fable or Perfect Dark, which I’d not describe as being close. I simply chose these 4 as key showcase titles which will define this Xbox/Xbox Game Pass generation early. All of these are far into development. But I can only again say that you should not expect these 4 in 2021. And that is okay. Game Pass works monthly, not in years, and is not limited to the Holiday onslaught. It’s not like just because a game launches in 2022, it’s suddenly far away.
Xbox needs to make sure that
Great things are coming, and many of them are far into development, but people should stop to think so binary in year-numbers and instead look at monthly/quarterly stages, because that’s how a subscription service works.
Dude, stop making so much sense.
Oh for crying out loud. Looks the like guy is a real team player if he’s coloring his comments with that kind of shit
I wouldn’t believe a word from him. Whether it comes in 2021, or 2022, he probably doesn’t know a thing
Exactly!
People get attaches to the year more than the period.
Regarding the spread, that’s why I said I’d like for Starfield to release a while from Halo.
And that’s just my preference, for Microsoft it might be even more if they say it fit better with their coming games.
So Microsoft might want Starfield sometime before Halo (and other games), or some time after, not very close. Especially if Q1 2022 doesn’t have many planned games.
If not all 4 are coming this year, let the one skipping 2021 be AOE then. It’s not even for Xbox, the console, personally I just don’t care at all about it. I so badly want Starfield to be playable this year. If they announce the release date at E3 for this year I hope they are 1000% certain of that. No CDPR shenanigans please.
When people say Starfield would be great to start 2022 with, I think we have to realize it’ll probably March or so, that isn’t exactly soon. I mean it was only a month ago that it was March…time flies, but still. Ah well, I should not get worked up over it at all, but I can hope.
Being now a Xbox title, Starfield would be attacked even more viciously than Cyberpunk 2077 if there’s some problem. They MUST be sure of what they show and release, considering the known bugs/polish problems of Bethesda.
Lol. I can understand Rand to some degree because he doesn’t consider himself an 'insider, ’ but Jez kind of, you know, leaks stuff about Microsoft on to the site he works for. What a bizarre thing to say.
Yeah, it’s arbitrary nonsense used primarily for list-war purposes.
Beyond the usual Console Warriors, I understand that some people are excited for a particular game and don’t want to wait another 3-6 months beyond when it’s supposed to come out, but we should all be rooting for games to come out when they’re actually finished. If you’ve waited years for something, what’s another 3-6+ months?
Agreed on that completely. If it’s absolutely not ready (going by rumors it sounded like they are in polish phase now) wait with dropping it. But if they announce a release date I hope they can stick with it. It was annoying as hell how Cyberpunk was close to coming out and out of the blue a delay…and another one.
Knowing BGS this should be fine. I don’t recall Skyrim, Fallout 3 and 4 even being delayed after release date announce.
What happened to Wolfenstein 3? Is that still in the cards? I remember that been considered a given late last year/early this year.
What’s another year or two of waiting for an Xbox fan anyway?
There’s a clear difference in MS wanting Starfield to launch in 2021 and being able to.
This might be their objective, will they achieve it? Time will tell.
Oh I fully expect it to be one of those games where certain people are just wating, chomping at the bit for something, ANYTHING, that they can jump on and exagerate the hell out of
True or not, justified or not, from faceless fanboy commentors to grifting youtubers, you know it’s coming
It’s for these reasons that I prefer a delay than a rushed launch, we don’t need a pr disaster and with the constant GP news, we don’t need Starfield 2021 at any cost.
