What are you saying not only does not make sense, but goes against Phil’s words and actual numbers, the sales lost on PS are more than counterbalanced by the growth of game pass, the people who jump on the ecosystem for the exclusivity (MS values a new customer infinitely more than a one-off sale since 10 years), the mindshare and ultimately by the reach of completely new markets with the cloud. It seems to me you are one of the people who doesn’t know that Roblox, one of the biggest games ever, is not on PS or even Nintendo and they can “survive” without them, lmao.
Then that person is either really dumb, or just doing mental gymnastics because he hates Xbox for whatever reason. Also, why is anyone even listening to him lol.
Let’s not believe this cumulative bullshit, it’s just wrong and don’t make sense, no company use this metric because it’s absolutely stupid. Can we please stop debate for 40 messages about every dumb mental gymnastic trying to downplay gamepass success ?
100% agree, people are trying really hard to downplay its success.
I listened to RDX (even though it’s not my favorite Xbox Podcast because I personally don’t like their style very much) and what Tim actually meant is that the number is active subscribers not active monthly users on Gamepass. Just like not every Netflix subscriber uses it every month.
So no one was saying anything wrong there. I think he just misunderstood the question.
I didn’t hear the latest RDX podcast yet, but I have heard enough of them to know this cumulative gamepass thing had to have either been sarcasm, or some comment from their chat, or something misunderstood. I would be very surprised otherwise as it’s really hard to believe there is any way they were looking for some reason to downplay Gamepass and shit on Microsoft…not THOSE guys
Trust me, they are very much pro Microsoft and spend most of their time praising Gamepass and the Series X and Phil Spencer and RDNA 2, Cloud Gaming, Quick Resume, Smart Delivery, FPS Boost…figgin…teraflops. You name it. And usually to annoying degrees, if I’m being honest
For better, or worse, these guys are not the guys to be doing what some of you are thinking
It would make more sense that way.
Ahh, there you go. You posted this while I was typing up my post just above it. And what you explain is honestly something thing I should have considered
Tim can be kind of…I don’t want to be mean…let’s just say he messes up what he’s trying to say, fairly often. He either misuses certain words, switches words around when trying to use common phrases, or just does a bad job articulating what’s in his head and has to attempt to clarify and elaborate later when he realizes how wrong it came off
So this makes a lot of sense that it was him
It was Tim dog at 54 minutes. I re watched it. He clearly says that he thinks that if Microsoft came out and said they had 35 million subs next year that they actually only have 20 million active subs. That’s where I turned it off because it was clearly very uninformed.
Sorry mods. I know this got off topic. I thought I was in the community thread when we started discussing the podcast.
Hmmm…
Randomly “Verified” OtherERA poster is claiming that Starfield isn’t coming this year. Claims to be a random character artist.
Disappointing if true but to be expected to pull off the hat trick of FH/Starfield/Halo this year with COVID.
Must be true, and Silent Hill is coming at Game awards 2020 too
I stopped reading at “verified resetera”, lmao, Silent Hill from Japan Studio someone?
I mean, I’d love Jez and Rand and other to be right.
But I guess we’ll have to see.
Listen to people who are consistently right.
Ignore places that are consistently wrong.
I want to believe.
If we only had a fraud!
Yeah, very recently we had Jeff Grubb saying the opposite of it, Matty too and I believe Jez and Rand as well. Of course things can quickly change and this person could have gotten that info. In that case we’ll hear soon from Grubb I’m sure.
God I’ll be glad af when they reveal the damn game at E3 and announce the release date too. But if it turns out to be a 2022 title I hope it’s very early next year. The wait has been long for their new IP.
I would love to play Starfield this year, but I’d like play Halo and start 2022 with a release like this
Has any insider said that Starfield will be released this year?
The general consensus amongst informed people is that Bethesda and Microsoft would like to release Starfield this year and that the game seems to be done its just being polished.
Due to Covid anything could happen, but it seems unlikely that something drastic happens where it doesn’t show up at E3.
I’d love to see Microsoft put out starfield this year to sit along side halo and forza. It would certainly be the strongest holiday Microsoft has ever had from a game’s perspective. But I’ll be playing infinite religiously for months before I even touch another game so I don’t mind waiting till early 2022.
