I guess. Not really sure. All I remember is that fans weren’t happy with story/character aspects.
Doesn’t changes the fact how big the marketing for Halo 5 was
True.

I’ll say 35.
- WB Interactive increases the current number of 22 to 33.
- Asobo to 34.
- Techland to 35.
Interesting predictions. Nothing too crazy.
- Disagree. Mid-70’s is my guess.
- Agree.
- Disagree. Only way I see Banjo returning is if Microsoft acquires PlayTonic.
- Agree.

- Disagree Moon / Agree Asobo.

Hive-Busters Campaign was crazy good. That was so much fun it inspired me to restart the main campaign that I had given up within 3 days of release because of all the bugs and crashes it had back then. I have now finished the main campaign.
While I appreciate what they attempted to do with the open world portions, they fell flat in Act 2 but did a little better in Act 3 with some of the encounters they added when finding some of the Relic Weapons or additional collectables or components. However once you cleared those sections, the world was too barren.
They need to abandon the open world portions or put in random encounters as well as more worldly events.
I think a good portion of Gears players are in it only for the MP aspects. It’s the exact opposite for me, where it’s campaign and co-op and horde-style that keeps my interest.
One aspect that could be going against HiveBusters is the way they manage that DLC. It doesn’t really show up as an update and if you notice it as an addon, it shows as only a 10.8 meg download, then you have to load the game, pick to install it, and let it do it’s dog slow download while the game is still running.
Outside the game I manage 350-450 mbit/sec downloads but the DLC took forever. I set it up to download, shaved, took a long shower, made some lunch, ate, returned and still had to wait another 15 minutes for it to complete. Oooph.
I mean if people at Rare were interested Banjo would return too. I just don’t know if there are.
The Hivebusters campaign that was linear was what I want from Gears, honestly don’t need that open world stuff in gears
You think Psychonauts 2 will be in the mid-70s? The original reviewed very well and Psychonauts 2 could potentially be even better considering the time they’ve been putting into it.
I’m going to try this year to not get to wrapped up in studio acquisitions, But I will add I’m going to be on the Asobo, IOI Interactive bandwagon all year long.
That was 16 years ago. I just don’t see the game scoring high with critics but we’ll see. I do however believe that majority of gamers who play it will like and enjoy it very much.
Rare has already said that they will only work on new IP’s which makes sense since the vast majority of those who worked on Banjo/Conker/DKC back in the day are long gone.
I do think that Double Fine Productions would be perfect to bring back Jet Force Gemini as a Ratchet & Clank clone but they shot down working on any Rare IP a few days ago.
…? Why? Some of you have some weird pre-conceived notions.
I liked Act 2 which was the snow/ice area much better than the desert area in Act 3. I do agree though that Gears should not have open world areas like that. Just doesn’t fit. Plus, you’re riding around on the skiff and no enemies attack you or anything. Definitely prefer the setup of old school Gears which is why im hyped to play Hivebusters next week.
Me too. Hyped to play Hivebusters next week. Action packed set piece extravaganza!!!
Outside of Mario Odyssey, what 3D platformer has scored a 90+? Majority of them barely even hit an 80+ from critics. Plus, there will be those sites/critics that aren’t Xbox fans who will give the game a low score no matter what which would lower the overall score. Of course, I could be completely wrong. If I am wrong, that’s one “miss” I wouldn’t mind having.
I entirely agree with that. Critics no longer review like they used to. Everyone expects so much more from the games. Same with most users. The expect everything to be masterpieces composed by 600+ workers over the course of 3 solid years.
I am now suspect of any game that gets such high review scores. Those now smell of shills or false reviews. There simply are not that many Magnum Opus out there.
I’m surprised at the scores lower than 70 for the indie game Carrion. It was so much fun for me with such a simple concept. The game world wasn’t that large that you needed an in-game map. You weren’t punished for merely exploring. It was fun moving around quickly and trying to get back to certain sections. It’s like anything short of having your hand held the entire way would be hated.
This also shows on some reviews of Journey to the Savage Planet.

Here’s what I’m thinking for Starfield’s reveal:
This is a very basic mockup. So imagine, the countdown to the show ends, we see the Xbox Game Studios logo and the O in XBOX transforms into the BGS logo. It rolls out.
We then see the same title screen from the original, but the Starfield logo appears and it says beneath it (Press Start)!
Bam, we’re into a gameplay demo, looks awesome. Then comes the kicker. October 7th 2021, smack in the middle of World Space Week, exclusive to the Xbox ecosystem. Then Todd comes out to talk, says there is so much to show, that we’ll get an extended gameplay demo and deep dive at QuakeCon. It’s be so awesome.
Nice mockup! That transition from the XGS logo to the BGS logo was pretty clean. That sounds like a great idea to do a gameplay reveal of the game, kinda similar to what was done with Halo: Infinite during the gameplay reveal with the start.

I agree, however I think it will have slim GOTY chances just due to how things are. I suspect it will be pretty well loved and do well.
-
Yes
-
No. I think something is brewing with Banjo, but I suspect that started after the great response to them in Smash. I think 2022 is the year of the bird and bear.
-
Probably
-
I certainly hope so. Giving the game an entire extra year bodes well that they are taking it seriously.
-
That’s a given.
-
I definitely could see Asobo, if they are willing to sell. Only complication is focus home. It doesn’t make sense to buy Moon as A. I believe they don’t want to sell and B. they do not output regularly and their next game is tied up with Private Division. MS should see about publishing their next game though.

I met Major Nelson and he said more options should be available this year, so hopefully this also lowers cost.
This, mostly, was me. I enjoy Halo but I don’t follow the non-game cannon. I still have no clue what was going on in 5. Prior to 5, my pet peeve was (and still is)story told via radio chatter during firefights. Why does every first person shooter with a plot do this. (Rhetorical).
