Remember during ps360, live was free on PS and 60€/year on Xbox, It’s not a problem for selling console
Well back then xbox live was leaps ahead. On ps3 there was no party chat you have to use the chat in games.

The PS3 launched $200 more expensive. There wasn’t a value proposition that Xbox needed to counter.

Yeah true but now for 20€ you can have more than 200 games and online so it’s just a way to drive gold user to gamepass and give them better value for their money

That doesn’t change anything. If you are already on xbox one, and you have a xbox live gold for 6 or 12 months it will still renew at the old rate regardless. Buying a new console doesn’t affect your sub in any way.
Unless your friends were subbing monthly to gold which was already a horrible investment as there were so many ways to get gold cheaper is the extra 1 dollar or 5 dollars if they are doing 3 months going to be what causes them to jump ship? As if they have any kind of 6 or 12 month sub nothing is changing for them.
And if the 1 dollar or 5 dollar difference causes them to leave the ecosystem they aren’t going to any greener pastures on playstation as the games cost more on that side.

but if you want to play games other than f2p, gamepass ultimate is a lot better value
for one year of GPU, you can have only GOW + one year of PS+
maybe and maybe not do not forget PS5 DE is more powerful and it will give better performance on longer run.
