Xbox Game Studios |OT3| Once more....with feeling (Part 1)

Machine Games are really ambitious devs. I doubt they make Indy a UC clone tbh. I’m thinking something along the lines of Riddick, The Darkness.

Ninja Gaiden series just feels like a Xbox series to me. It’s style and gameplay always brings me back to the OG Xbox days. Microsoft needs to harken back more to it’s roots.

Dream scenario for me.

MS staff up Roundhouse games to make that concept Human Head had for Prey. The sci fi bounty hunter theme.

Finished all the DLC of We Happy Few now.

The first one is my favorite, because for the majority of the DLC you are in a brand new location and I don’t know, I just really like robots. And the raygun and time thingy was great stuff too!

The second DLC was really good too, I just didn’t enjoy it as much as the first. Definitely some very original ideas in this though. And while the whip was great in the third, I didn’t like the locations as much as the first.

Overall Compulsion shows how promising they are, very promising that is. These DLC were all made with a much lower budget than what they got now, now that they are a Xbox studio. I can only imagine what they can do now. Elements of Bioshock and Dishonored in WHF and also plenty of new ideas of their own. Really damn good voice acting too and their world design at times is awesome.

Compulsion is probably looked at as one of the studios making smaller games, but WHF isn’t exactly small nor short. I look very much forward to what they got cooking next now.

MS should just flex and buy Ubisoft.

£15bn would be a chunk of change but one they’d easily swallow.

However, a deal with Ubisoft for day and date gamepass releases for future Ubisoft games could be a cheaper way of sealing the deal.

Not gonna lie Ubi games are literally made for Game Pass, I don’t think MS should buy them unless someone else is about to buy them.

The deals are everywhere especially when we talk about 2 companies wants to sell consoles like Nin/ Sony, the deals even can happen in Digital/ Physical copies, if one company wants to block physical copies from the other one, it can.

Some franchises exclusivity are due to the relationship between the publishers/ Devs and I think Persona one of them.

Ubisoft has more than 18 000 employees though (more than Microsoft + Bethesda combined which is around 6000 I guess ?)

18 000 new Microsoft employees would certainly cost huge money to operate.

Even BF huh? That I didn’t see coming. Really thought they would go current gen only. On the other hand, countless of people still have last gen consoles and both of the current gen consoles aren’t exactly easy to get either. I get this.

Yeah, but I remember Bungie saying they regret making Destiny cross Gen as it hampered them heavily, and in the end 80% of buyers were on xone and ps4 not on the previous generation, and they even said they’d change their decision if they could, so there’s that.

Damn. That sucks.

So all that talk before XSX came out that being cross gen for awhile DOES matter? I read things like scaling techniques and what not. This can’t be for BF6 as well?

Xbox is not going to buy Ubisoft and bring on their 18,000 staff. Which would be equivalent to over a 10% increase in all MS staff (currently ~166,000).

CD Projekt Red also acts as a publisher for its games and the Cyberpunk 207 7 debacle has started to raise questions about the company’s future. According to DFC Intelligence, “The company now becomes one to watch as an acquisition candidate.” Cyberpunk 2077 could have benefitted from the publishing hands of a bigger company," something that could have done wonders for both the game and the developers.

“CD Projekt stock dropped 50% in December,” it wrote. “This is unacceptable for a company launching a flagship, defining product. A larger public company would have been able to avoid this with basic public relations and marketing.”

In my own opinion, I don’t think anyone will be trying to acquire CDPR. Price is way too high I think, especially after what happened (even though if the game’s still a huge success).

Valuation too high, no ip’s and bad culture. Pass.

A price like Ubisoft or Zenimax and only 1 game every 4-5 years? No thanks.

I agree. Even if it was a nailed on GOTY every time, it wouldn’t be worth that much.

They are not the kind of deal MS are looking for anyway.

Clearly the culture isn’t healthy and they do not own their IP sufficiently to bring anything but dev talent. Now, clearly they have a lot of good devs, but not that many. They are nowhere near as big as Rockstar in terms of dev capacity…or Ubisoft, or that matter. GOG would be a good bonus but not in itself a reason to pay that much.

Valve would be a better deal.
