Meant to say King has 6k working on their games as compared to 3k working on CoD who release a new game every year. Considering that mobile teams are generally a lot smaller, King seems humungous compared to the rest.
Playrix has grown a lot in recent years (as has Dream Games) which has likely taken a lot of market share from them.
One thing this chart doesn’t make clear is that Tencent also own Supercell and Scopely is owned by Savvy (Saudi Arabia).
I wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft continues to expand by acquiring either Playrix, Dream Games and/or Roblox to stay in that market, as Tencent is currently dominating it.
The combined revenue of King, Dream, Roblox and Playrix in this chart is $2.84 Billion.
The combined revenue of Tencent & Supercell is $3.95 billion!
I saw a rumor by that account that Crash 4 : It’s about time is coming to GP next month. It’s indeed about time, haha. I’m especially waiting for Tony Hawk, but this is cool!
Xbox might actually have two studios with two AAA games each this year if Playground is also on track to release FH6 this year, would be 4 years since 5 so not impossible, the other one being Obsidian with Avowed and Outer Worlds 2, then there’s also the possibility of Fable, COD, Oblivion and Gears rumored remakes
Could be the craziest second half for Xbox maybe ever? I know it wouldn’t be Halo 3 days level of of big but that second half would be big.
It will be pretty big if so, I just hope they can manage their pacing this time, e.g. I don’t want a super busy 2025 for the beginning of 2026 to be dead.
With the amount of games in development they shouldn’t really have that issue again, however they do like stepping on rakes (sorry to be pessimistic).
It is making the wait for Elder Scrolls VI more bearable. It looks really good. The more I see, the more I’m digging the artstyle and atmosphere of the game.
