Gears formula is incredibly deep combat. I don’t think Hivebusters is too far removed from Gears 5 proper…it just transplanted multiplayer abilities into a brief campaign. From Jons emphasis on the podcast, it sounded like we would hear from The Coallition imminently. Now I’m expecting Gears 6 at The VGA. Maybe for release next year.
You’re talking about non gamers that sit on Twitter and Resetera all day. Many of them are young and were condition to act that way towards xbox because everyone else does from “gaming youtubers” to the so called “gaming media” who write contant hit pieces on Xbox exclusives before they even launch ( see Starfield ) instead of informing and celebrating this hobby they choose constant toxicity and negativity and it’s mostly one sided. I don’t mind Xbox division being called out when they fuck up, but even when they seamingly turn things around they get shit on for it, in contrast everything Sony does is celebrated even when they blatantly fuck over their consumers.

I see that Climax Studios is now listed as a new support studio for AoE IV as they are involved with Xbox version and the upcoming DLC. Hopefully the game gets new content a bit faster now, as it has a lot of potential.
Just saw that the old vice president of SIE’s Japan Studio Business Development joined Xbox as Diretor of Partnerships in Japan. Cool stuff!
There’s an expansion coming so i do think the lack of big updates is because that will be the “big update” regarding content.
That, and also porting the whole thing on Xbox, which probably wasn’t an easy thing to do.
Media Molecule’s Studio Director also liked ex-SIE Japan Studio’s VP LinkedIn post about joining Xbox.
It means nothing, but MM might unfortunately face the same fate as Japan Studio one day so you never know. Sorry about the tinfoil hat post lol.
